Otahuna is a one-of-a-kind travel experience. My wife and I have never stayed at such a splendid accommodation in all our travels. It is, as one travel publication says, "not for the budget conscious." The accommodations are beyond luxurious. Our room, the Veranda Suite, was huge, comfortable, and contained virtually anything one could imagine desiring (including two fireplaces, one in the bathroom!) The food, and wine, are outstanding and plentiful. The gardens are splendid. Service is exceptional. Dinner, which is included along with breakfast in the fee is five courses, each with wine.
The house itself is of historical and architectural importance and interest. There are a number of attractive options and amenities available, including a hot tub, use of bikes (and good bikes, at that), etc.
My only concern is that Otahuna may have spoiled me for any other lodging hereafter!!!
