Someone mans the desk 24 hours a day. We have stayed there twice and have had two difreant appartments. The one we liked the best had seperate doors for the bedroom and lounge. however, both were good.

As an apartment it offered more room than a hotel and convenient car parking. The lounge and bedroom were certainly spacious. The room was serviced daily and reception has a number of necessary supplies for purchase. In fact staff went out of their way to quickly obtain an item not in store. Some effects of the recent earthquake can be seen but very superficial. The furniture and fittings are however a little dated with an old fashioned decor. The building is on a reasonably busy corner being part of the city's one way circular route and a favourite for the likes of police and ambulance services. One of the most important requirements in any accomodation is to be able to sleep well however the bed was not that comfortable and why oh why do hotel pillows have to be flat and hard? New beds and especially pillows would do the world of good for this place.

Good proximity to town and [retty good service. Rooms and environment are rather dated which was dissapointing. Bed was really soft which didn't help our sleep but we didn't ask to move. Units were very roomy and were serviced daily to a great standard. So if you don't mind the dated /old school look then a great place to stay.

Although rather dated the Chateau Blanc Suites are a charming place to use as a base to explore Christchurch. Other family members have stayed here before and while they think it gets a little shabbier each time they always return when visiting the area. The size and location of the accommodation coupled with friendly, helpful staff really do make it a home from home. The balcony was an added bonus.
