The Sudima employs very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. The rooms are generally comfortable, especially after a long flight from England. It is conveniently placed within walking distance of the Airport, especially if you have wheeled suitcases.
The Restaurant is also good with buffet style food or you can order from the menu. The Chefs are also able to help with dietary requirements.
Being in New Zealand they also have a good variety of local wines for guests to sample.

If you want to visit Christchurch itself it is a bit of a trek by bus or Taxi, but both will drop you in the centre, which is conveniently small and able to be explored easily on foot.

If you want to explore the Antarctic Exhibition Centre it is located close by and is very interesting.

Very convenient as its a 10 minute walk from the hotel, it needed to be as the hotels shuttle bus failed to arrive even after 2 phone calls. Food was pretty basic and the buffet was cold.try to visit the Antartic Centre next door as this is worth a couple of hours.

We spent our last 2 nights at this comfortable hotel. As others have said, this hotel is nothing to look at from the outside. However, we were very happy with our premium room (736) located at the rear of the complex on the ground floor. It was tastefully decorated, had brand new carpet, clean throughout, had 2 very comfortable double beds and had a good size bathroom with shower and bath. Our room looked out over a beautiful large courtyard of trees and lawn which was a very peaceful and quiet area to sit and relax. The only "noise" we heard one morning was the cleaning staff chatting and laughing in the corridor - this was not a problem for us but could have been if you were trying to sleep.

We found all staff to be friendly and accommodating.

We made use of the internet, lobby and bar area where there was ample seating. We would have had the buffet for NZ25 as it looked very appealing but we had made prior arrangements for eating out. We did not use the pool but it was a nice area to relax and socialize. There was a small library in the corridor for people to help themselves, exchange or leave unwanted books (readers do appreciate this thoughtfulness). We also appreciated the 24 hour courtesy bus to the terminal (couple of minutes away).

This hotel was convenient for us to drop off our hire car which was just around the corner on Wairakei Road.

We really liked this hotel for its convenience when departing and would not hesitate to stay again.

The hotel is walking distance to the airport, it has a good restaurant and nice bar. The pool is nice, tho I have never swam in it. It has a lovely center courtyard with tables for outdoor eating. The rooms are average, they are clean and the two times I have stayed there they were comfortable.
