“Five Star People with a Five Star Building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 February 2011

This was the highlight lodging experience of a three week trip to Fiji, Sydney and then NZ. Stayed at Beaufort House for two nights and were throughly impressed. The owners have had it for about three years. It used to be called Dorothy's and was owned by two men. The news owners have done a wonderful, wonderful job of restoring it to a classy stay and adding their own graciousness in hospitality. As a botique hotel, it ranks in the tops. The only shortcoming is that there are only five rooms--you need to book early and be happy if you get in!

P.S. Ten minute walk to the heart of downtown.
P.S.P.S. We were there five days before the Feb 2011 earthquake and are praying for these folks.

“One of the best we've stayed in anywhere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2011

Initially, we just booked Beaufort House for one night, but ended up staying four - and apparently others had done the same. This is a beautifully restored and maintained early 20th century doctor's house, within easy walking distance of the centre of Christchurch. We booked the suite which has great views over Latimer Square, but all of the rooms looked to be very comfortable and well-appointed. The hosts, Sharon & Noel also own a fine dining restaurant in Christchurch, so they are experts at hospitality and cooking. The breakfasts - a cold buffet and a hot selection cooked to order, couldn't have been better. Although they don't regularly do an evening meal. we took advantage of a dinner prepared at the restaurant but served in the house's magnificent dining room to a French tour group. Better yet, we enjoyed "private dining" in our suite's sun room which has its own dining table. Last but not least, Sharon and Noel are incredibly friendly, hospitable and very knowledgeable about Christchurch and surrounding areas. They gave us some great tips, organized a bunch of things for us and in the end, it was a wrench to leave! Without doubt, one of the best B&B's we have stayed at anywhere in the world!!

“Fabulous Arts and Crafts mansion with gracious hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2011

My wife and I stayed two nights at Beaufort House to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We had high expectations and they were all met. The hosts are Noel and Sharon, and from the first email communications we felt taken care of. When we met them in person, we were made to feel special and completely at home. They are very interesting and engaging hosts, and we enjoyed our conversations with them. My wife and I have wide experience in the hospitality industry, and appreciated Noel and Sharon's professionalism and relaxed attention.
We were given a choice of rooms, most with ensuite, and we chose an Arts and Crafts style room with shower. The room was bright with lots of natural light and felt welcoming. Furnishings, mattress and linen were high quality and very comfortable.
Sharon made a dinner reservation for us at Tiffanys, which she manages, and again we were made to feel like honored guests.
The location of Beaufort House is in Latimer Square, a 10 minute walk from the center of Christchurch, so shopping and restaurants are close by.
Don't be put off by the room rate; this is very good value for the quality of the experience.

“A stay that we will always remember”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2011

We stayed with Sharon and Noel with two young kids. I have to say we all loved our stay in this really beautiful house ! The house is a short walk from the CBD. We enjoyed the close proximity yet the quietness of the place. Sharon had a fully stocked pantry for complimentary use of the guests (fruits, snakcs, wine, water, milk !). Also the breakfast freshly cooked and served in the most elegant manner was just awesome. We stayed in top hotels during our stay but this tops everything !

“Fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2010

The service we out was out of this world, we were with a group and the hosts managed to make us all feel special. I was unwell and was looked after like I was royalty.

The rooms are extreme luxury and the food devine.

Thank you Sharon and Noel
