Very nice hotel with modern feel, manager was very helpful, allowed us a bit extra check out time when our troops slept in. Best of all complimentary internet! The bedroom and bathrooms are both meticulous and very tastfully decorated, Best accomodation we've visited on our trip!

we visited christchurch in dec2011 in our first trip to new zealand. The city has been badly affected by the earthquake in early 2011 and the entire central christchurch is closed (cathedral square etc). In our entire NZ trip, christchurch was the place we enjoyed the least as there was nothing much to do.

The hotel is close to central christchurch, however, the location did not make much of a difference given that most of the city was closed. We stayed in the executive 2 bedroom apartment. We were a bit disappointed with the exec apartment (given what we had in other cities of NZ). There was a single bathroom which was not attached to the rooms and hence not the best choice for couples travelling together.

The hospitality was below average when compared to the other hotels we stayed in queenstown, rotorua etc.

Overall I would recommend tourists to give christchurch a skip if they can and maybe explore other areas like Kaikoura, spend extra days in Queenstown.

We spent two great nights in Christchurch at the Terra Vive on Bealey Avenue. It is in an ideal position to explore the city and absorb the terrible damage caused by the quakes. The visitor can but marvel at the courage, determination and sheer guts of the Christchurch people as they dig themselves out from under this dreadful catastrophe.
The apartments are excellent with great TV, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchenette complete with washing machine and tumble dryer, good internet access (free) comfortable lounge area and a small balcony, with convenient free onsite parking complete the perfect place to stay. Recommended.

All the key things provided; comfy bed, clean room & bathroom, nice private outdoor area.

Plus bonus of extra large tv, washing machine & dryer in the room and comfy couch.

Customer service was very good for us and included drinks & nibbles.
Highly recommended.
