My partner and I stayed at Amore Motor Lodge for one night and could not have been more pleased. We were a bit worried because we were arriving late, but Michelle reassured us that we would not have any problems getting into our room. The room itself exceeded any expectations we had. It was extremely clean and modern... there was even a heated towel rack in the bathroom! Michelle could not have been more helpful. She was very informative and told us everything that we needed to know about making our way around Christchurch. She even held our bags for us for about an hour or two after we checked out so we could walk around without having to carry everything with us. She also helped organize transportation which was much cheaper than the taxis. She always had a big smile on her face and was willing to do anything to make sure that we were happy guests! If we return to Christchurch, we will definitely be staying here again!

We stayed in Amore a few weeks ago to visit family in Christchurch, it was recommended to us by a friend who had stayed there a few times before. What a great wee motel, the managers were amazing and friendly. I was slightly nervous as it was my first trip to Christchurch since the earthquakes, but was quickly put to ease as the managers showed me around and assured me of the sturdieness of the building. Clean comfortable rooms, quite and spacious. Riccartorn mall is literally right across the road. Lovely modern decore, optional continental breakfast. Smiles all round! Thanks Amore, Ill be back and will highly recommend anyone to stay here.

Michelle and Luis - thank you for making us so welcome! Rooms spotlessly clean, everything we required was provided, minutes from a large shopping mall, lovely and quiet AND gently rocked to sleep by a 4.2 earthquake but amazingly .... we felt incredibly safe!!!! We will stay again if ever back this way and definitely recommend.

Had an unexpected family emergency so had to look for accommodation in Christchurch at the last minute. Drove down Riccarton and Amore was one of the few to still have a vacancy, so pulled up and enquired on the availability of rooms. Fortunately a two bedroom unit was still free, which suited my family just perfectly.

What we got was essentially an apartment that was a lot more spacious than I had expected. There was a living room with a flat LCD tv, dining table, and heating. The rooms and bathroom were clean and modern. There were basic cooking facilities, and most importantly, free internet on LAN (no wi-fi but that was fine). Beds were comfy and firm - not the super soft type that sink in the middle and tend to give one a backache the next morning (these happen to be really common in most of the NZ accommodations I stayed...).

The hotel is rather near - less than a 5 minute drive, or if you prefer to walk, probably 15 minutes) to the restaurants, such as Nando's and this Pub/Bar/Restaurant (I can't remember the name) that was pretty good.

At 120 NZD a night, Amore was a pleasant surprise. Only minor problem is - and another reviewer has already said it - you will have some difficulty if your luggage is very heavy, and you get a room on the second level, as this lodge (as with most motor lodges, in fact) does not have an elevator.
