Having been in Christchurch last February both before and after the major earthquake I wanted to return to support the city and people who live there. We had seen the damage caused by the quake and are filled with respect with the way that the people of Christchurch are coping with such an unpredictable situation.

We were so pleased to stay at CentrePoint - Jeff was the ultimate host, helpful, friendly and just a really nice guy. As other reviewers have said Jeff provided us with up to date restaurant information, where to go and what to do and his advice was excellent. We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment on two floors - it was immaculate, exceptionally clean and so comfortable. I cannot recommend this motel highly enough.

Jeff and Naomi deserve their recent Tripadvisor accolade - they not only run a great motel but have a passion for their city which shines through in everything they do. Well done to you both.

Jeff and Naomi really makes you feel welcome to their lovely property CentrePoint on Colombo. We received some excellent recommendations on where to eat (ask about the Thai Caravan!) and great suggestions on what to see while in Christchurch. As the name suggest, the motel is located in a very central location and is within walking distance to the Botanical Gardens and the Avon. Despite the damage caused by the earthquake, Christchurch has much to offer for tourists and the community spirit, support and visions for the future that the people of Christchurch share is absolutely inspiring.

The room was very comfortable and well-appointed with modern appliances and a big bed. The recliner leather chairs in front of the tv + dvd player was divine after a long day of travelling. I especially liked the eco-friendly focus of the motel such as providing a recycling box, bulk amenities, towel exchange system etc.

So in summary an excellent choice for accommodation in Christchurch and highly recommended! Thank you again for a lovely stay!

Stayed at Centrepoint on Colombo last month for 4 nights. Found the accommodation very comfortable with everything we needed. Location was ideal, currently just outside of the city's 'Red Zone". Our hosts, Jeff and Naomi, were very welcomging and provided us with detailed advice on 'everything Christchurch'. With only 12 rooms, the property has a very personal touch about it. The recycling programme is more than the token effort that most hotels offer, and is made easy for guests to take part in. We would be more than happy to stay at Centrepoint again.

We stayed here in December 2011 for 3 nights. On arrival, we were made to feel very welcome by Jeff, who was funny, friendly and full of useful knowledge. He gave us some great tips on what to do and see in Cristchurch, particularly difficult as much of it was so badly damaged in the Feb earthquake. He even tried to source a Sunday roast for us and really pulled out the stops to try and find one. We were lucky enough to receive a free upgrade and our room was awesome. It was very big with kingsize (very comfy) bed, single bed, armchairs, TV, stereo, hanging and drawer space, kitchen(ette) with crockery etc, tea & coffee, shower room with shampoo etc, dining table & chairs, to name a few things. Pretty much everything you would need, and more. Modern and spotless too. We received milk and cookies on arrival, which was a lovely touch. The information in the room was very comprehensive and laundry facilities were spot on. There was also on site parking (as is normal with a Motel). The location was excellent, very central. There were full recycling facilities and the Motel has a good "eco" ethos. I'm sure Jeff and Naomi would have strived to provide you with anything you required, or at least point you in the right direction if they couldn't. We would certainly stay here again, not just for the service, facilities and location, but the price was spot on for a central Motel. Highly recommend - we will be back!
