“This place is a dump”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

First the good - there was complimentary internet included with our Wotif deal. The bathroom was clean.

the bad - the bed was old, the room was beyond tired verging on decrepit. There were hairs in the sheets indicating that a rush job had been done on the sheets. When we checked in we were given keys to an already occupied room by accident which we then had to sort out. Looking at some of the prices being quoted I can't believe that they can charge those prices with a straight face. One of the windows in our apartment was broken and let a draft in.

The parking is extremely finicky and relatively expensive ($20 a day). As well there aren't enough parking spaces for all the apartments so make sure you book early.

“Nice apartment but very pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

As a group of two couples we stayed for one night in a two bed apartment. The kitchen facilities, washing machine, dryer etc were very good. Only problem was there was two sliding doors to the bathroom with no lock, so one from hallway and one form one bedroom, it could have been awkward for someone! overall, nice stay but paid way to much for what we got.

“I find it hard to believe that this is a 4 1/2 star hotel. It is in no way owrthy of this rating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

The first room we were booked into had a blown light bulb (which really affected the overall light of the the room), only one bedside lamp, a broken toilet door AND the complimentary milk had expired a week ago.

“This place is tired”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

This place is in dire need of an update. There was chips in the paintwork everywhere, the beds were saggy and the dining furtniture was scratched. Most worrying was that the sliding glass door on the shower was off its tracks and it was very dangerous with young children in the apartments. Also one of the sliding wardobe was off its tracks. To call this a two bedroom apartment is misleading as there were gaps between the door and the ceiling which meant that you could hear everything going on in the apartment, doors shut or not. It took a lot of effort to keep our 3 year old quiet one morning when they woke before the baby! The washer and dryer it took a long time to cycle through only to have 'dried' clothes come out wet.

I wouldn't have chosen to stay at this hotel at all, but it was booked by my husband's work. I wasn't looking forward to staying at this hotel having read the bad reviews here on trip advisor and I certainly didn't enjoy staying here! The only nice thing I can say about the place is that you could use the computer in the lobby for free to check emails etc.

“I was so tired!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

Every night of my stay I was awoken by noise. My room opened out on to the atrium which means every word uttered by every guest in every room is experienced by every other guest with doors open. And you have to have the door open, for air, such as it is.

The staff were friendly, car parking was convenient and reasonably priced and the location was good. The pool and spa in the adjoining gym are pretty gross but since it's a free add-on provided to guests, not part of the hotel, it's not really fair to moan.

The apartment itself was fine, fairly well equipped but lacked a few things, eg a dress mirror. The only mirror was in the bathroom, which was too high and the lighting was too dim. There was no rack in the shower to place soap or shampoo (although these were provided) and the hair dryer was too weak, plus there was only one electrical socket near a mirror which made it hard to use the GHDs to fix the terrible hair caused by poor drying.

Luckily I remembered to check the bedside alarm clock before turning in on my my first night - yes, just as I suspected, the housekeepers had neglected to turn it off after the previous guest had left Alarms 1 and 2 for 5.45am. Surely deactivating alarms should be part of Housekeeping 101??
