Staying at Broadeaves truly made our visit to New Zealand special. We stayed there from February 18-22, and our room had its own bathroom, very comfortable bed, and an outdoor hot tub reached by a private entrance. Breakfasts were very tasty, and gave us the fuel to get the day started right.
But what really made our stay special were the hosts, Liz and Andrew. Liz was able to get us permits to visit Kapiti Island in two days (my guidebook advises that it normally takes a month or more to get a permit). One day we were talking about how rare abalone (paua) is in the United States, and Liz was able to get her father to bring some the next day (which she cooked for dinner, and it was delicious!). Andrew was a very gracious host who was an interesting conversationalist, and their daughter, Rebecca, was a very polite and charming young lady.
All in all, I would have to say that staying at Broadeaves was one of the most rewarding visits that we have ever had at a Bed and Breakfast.
