The flat was DIRTY on our arrival. The blinds broken. The curtains did not fit the window. Rubbish left in the yard and in the stairwell along with supermarket shopping trollys on the 2nd floor landing
This is not "affordable apartment" this is "social housing" with noisy neighbours in an area where more than a dozen people have been knifed or mugged or raped in the last week.
This is not in the advert or on the website. As a 56 year old woman with my son we were unable to leave the flat after early evening. We have cut short our trip and returned to the UK a week early due to this fact. We did not feel safe here and we will not be back. Had we been informed of the actual area/violence and noise/drunks in the street until 5.30am (apparently normal for this area) before we booked and suggested that it was only suitable for young backpackers we would have made alternative arrangements. As it is,a very expensive 'Holiday' has been ruined
Their customer service and emergency contact details are a joke, no one made any attempt to contact us or answer messages left on their answer phone service - I wonder would they have answered if the place had burned down or we had been the people being attacked???
Their reply to my complaint is 'what did I expect - it's a city'.
