“Great Location but thats about it...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We were in Wellington for the Rugby Sevens and we decided to stay in the city. Hotel is great location but thats about it! Needed a good clean, the main door had issues opening and closing. Some staff were great and some a little bit confused. Quite noisey as we had to have windows open as no aircon. For $250.00 a night for a studio room I expected a little bit more.

“A bit run down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Girl on the front desk locked the door between me giving my credit card details and fetching my luggage from the car, so I was unable to get back in. She said she locked the door because she was "sick of people coming through the door with enquiries, and interrupting her". I thought that was the job of someone employed on reception?

My room wasn't serviced, despite it being called Quest Serviced Apartments. This was a major problem as I returned to my room at 7pm having piled the used laundry in the shower as instructed, and it was still sitting there damp when I got back. Same with my rubbish bin full of rubbish.

Presentation of the room was average, although it needs a new coat of paint and things like drawers and doors tidied up. TV was great, and the lighting was excellent.

On checkout I raised these issues with the girl on the desk, who called me "hun", and passed them off as minor instances. I wrote separately to the manager of the building, who responded appropriately and apologised for the poor customer service.

I'd stay here again on the basis of the manager's response and if they tidied it up a bit, but my overall impression was that it wasn't quite as professional as it should have been.

Room Tip: Rooms looking over Hunter St have windows which can open, which is great for getting some fresh air...

“Old-fashioned charm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

We have stayed here a number of times, always in the same one-bedroom apartment, which has a peep view of the sea. It feels like another home!...There is a fully equipped kitchen and quiet fridge; laundry area in the large bathroom, comfortable furnishings in the living area. Modern appliances, of course. Best of all is the fact that we are only right in the centre of Wellington and within walking distance of theatres, shops and eateries. Bus stop from the airport is nearby for when we fly to Wellington. So easy. And staff are helpful but unobtrusive - that's real service.

Room Tip: Nice to choose a separate bedroom - great feeling of space.

“Fantastic location and friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

Right in the middle of Lampton Quay. Close to the waterfront for long safe walks - even early in the morning. Smack in the middle of great cafes - try Smith the Grocer for HUGE breakfasts or Starbucks if that is your thing. Great shopping to suit all wallets. Two minutes if you take it slowly from a bus stop to go to airport or 4 mintues walk from a bustop from the airport.

Room Tip: Ask for as high up as possible otherwise can be noisy. Or ask for an apartment at the back

“I have the same complaint as a previous reviewer.”

We booked to stay at Quest Wellington months before a concert at Westpac Stadium only to receive an email THE WEEK BEFORE to say that they could not accommodate us and that they had arranged alternative accommodation for us elsewhere. I rang that hotel to find they had no such booking. Eventually we were booked at another hotel, we stayed there, and it was TERRIBLE. It was also miles away from Westpac and we were walking... We received no explanation from Quest. BEWARE, Quest can and will change your booking and put you up at sub standard accommodation at a moments notice with no explanation. This was a year ago and you can tell I'm still angry. Quest Wellington ruined the only weekend I have had away from my children in 11 years.
