The Novotel is located on the Terrace in Auckland with direct elevator access to Lampton Quay which is great. The same elevator goes to the car park. Breakfast was great and I have to say possibly the best eggs benedict ever. We ate at the hotel two nights and found the food incredible and also good value. The staff were all fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant even accommodated us on the Friday (we were ther Feb 9&10) when they were fully booked, they went way beyond what I expected.

Check in was easy but I was informed that I got no benefit for being a platinum member of Accor – Novotel does not need to provide anything under the A|Club conditions but always do (free parking, free internet etc). After some pouting on my behalf I was given two drink vouchers. The internet has a price structure that can only be considered to be gouging – we found it much cheaper to but 3G from Telecom and use that for our stay.

Rooms are functional, clean and the beds comfortable. We has a partial harbour view which was very good – this was room 914. The bathroom was a little reminiscent of an Ibis and the water pressure so low you used five times more than necessary just to get wet – otherwise a great hotel.

I would happily stay there again when in Wellington. I also seem to recall that there is free Valet parking for Hybrid vehicles.
