“Really enjoyable stay”

The good
It was nice and clean
The rooms were a good size. I had one with a kitchenette - it was handy to have a washer dryer.
Good location just opposite Te papa.
The hippopotamus restaurant was EXCELLENT.

The bad
The bathroom was a bit small
One of the kitchen cabinets were off its hinges
The decor needs to be tidied up - seventies chic looks naff if it's shabby. It is just ok at the moment.
the staff were a bit snotty.
Wifi was v expensive.

“Bit disappointing”

Great location, fine building snooty staff and $20 to park the car over night. Free Internet in reception. Breakfast buffet was stone cold. Credi card charge 1.5%

Many thanks for your positive review. You mention the History of the Hotel being interesting, and I assume you are talking about the fact the building used to be located about 120 metres away from where it is now. Nearly 20 years ago when I relocated it, the Hotel at 3500 tonnes was one of the largest buildings ever moved. Details can be found on our website, including a video clip showing the actual move.

“SERVICE! EXPERIENCES!”

Arrived at the hotel an hour earlier than check in (3pm) and our rooms was ready for my partner and I to check in straight away. As we drove up to the door we were immediately met by the the polite Valets, (hadn't even made it in the door), who parked the car, unloaded our luggage, and took it straight to the room. Had a Marina Suit over looking the harbour with stunning views. The price was a bit high, but was very reasonable considering it was the sevens weekend. COULD NOT FAULT THE SERVICE! Which was a surprise on such a busy weekend! Would have been good to have an opening window but the air-con made up for that. Was pleased to see energy efficient power system in the room. Great location to the CBD, short taxi/walk to the stadium, super market right next door. WiFi availible throughout the whole hotel. Would DEFIANTLY stay again!

Room Tip: Marina Suits are amazing.

“Good Downtown Location!”

Stayed for a couple nights Feb 5-7, 2012. Good location across from Te Papa museum and shopping and restaurants. Grocery store less than Adblock away. Nice fitness center. Computers and WiFi available in lobby. Valet parking was convenient. Short walk to Wellington Cable Car! Overall, to Toronto
