“Not in a central location”

This hotel was booked through a travel agent and quite on the edge of the city.
It did have good eating places nearby
Swimming pool of a good standard .
I stayed two nights with no complaints but did book into a hotel nearer the harbour and the train station.
If you don't mind a walk or have a car then it might be the hotel for you.

Dear Accorhotels Traveler Hamilton,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us recently and taking the time to post your feedback on the TripAdvisor site.

It was great to read that you enjoyed your time at Mercure Wellington and that the meals were worth the wait. I am sorry for the delay, and I have asked my Executive Chef to discuss with his team your comments about the Kids pizza.

Kind regards,

Rob Poole

“All average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

The hotel is nice but nothing special. Upon check-in we informed ourselves about parking options and were told that there are parking fees on the street as well as in their parking garage so we would't have a choice than paying anyway and so we could take their parking ticket for 20 NZD. Later we discovered that parking on the street would have been much cheaper though. There is a free internet connection in the Lobby which expires after 20 minutes or 8 mb download volume which ever comes first. This is very bad as you are only able to download a few emails or data and it disconnects. After that you have to pay but even then get a download restriction. Nevertheless, for one or a few nights it's ok and you are in the city center after a few minutes walk or drive.

Dear Accorhotel Traveler Munich Germany,

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay with us specifically the car parking charges and Internet at the hotel. Mercure Wellington provides a range of different options aside from the free internet access in the lobby.

The off street parking around the hotel is reserved for residential parking only and cars who park on the street are required to display a special sticker. Any vehicle not displaying this sticker will be ticketed by the local parking enforcement agency (who is very efficient) the cost of the ticket is $35.00.

We offer convenient off street secure under ground parking for $20.00

Thank you once again for the feedback and enjoy the rest of your travels in New Zealand.

Kind Regards

Rob Poole
