A great location right in the heart of the city. The staff was friendly and efficient (whats that quote-- give a smile and you will get two back) While it is central it is just far enough away from the main club/bar scene (5 minutes walk) that there is little noise in the small hours to disturb you. The rooms are clean and tidy and the beds are heavenly. One of the few 2 bedroom units available in this area. Yes we will return.

The room I got was large with a separate sleeping room and living room. The interior looked rather new.
I arrived late evening. At the reception all was prepared for arrival. The check-in was done simple but reasonably effective. Don't expect over friendly staff welcoming you to the hotel.
Internet access is purchased via a voucher at the reception. You cannot do that in the room. Actually nowadays in developed countries I would expect free Internet access (standard in the room fee).
The rooms did seem clean. Space was very reasonable.
Breakfast could be ordered in the room but there was no restaurant. Nearby there are plenty of places to take breakfast.
I found it a pity that there was no TV in the sleeping room. Watching TV was only possible from the simple living room.

Central City Apartments is located right in the centre of the city roughly halfway between Cuba Street and Lambton Quay. I opted to stay in one of the one bedroom apartments that had a harbour view. The view from the 13th floor was pretty good.
The hotel could do with a wee bit more modernisation. In places it is showing a wee bit of wear.
The cooking facilities in the apartment are not the greatest.

I've stayed at Central City apartments a number of times on business and enjoy going back. The location is very convenient. The refurbished 2 bdrm apartments are great and if traveling alone the harbour view rooms are superb.

Central city provided a centrally located base for a couple of nights accomodation in Wellington during the recent RWC group stages.
The apartments are handily situated for the shopping and cafes of Cuba st and Courtney Place and a short walk to the Waterfront. Reception was helpful and we were able to access our room promptly for a 2pm checkin and the room was clean and bright. Decor and fittings could do with a bit of TLC and hopefully a refit is on the cards soon as it didn't really live up to my expectations and was looking a little cheap and shabby.
Didn't really use the facilities apart from the fridge for chilling wine. Parking was available around the corner on Willis St for a (not to exorbitant) price.
I can imagine you can normally do much better for your money in Wellington but if you get a good rate and just need the location, this is probably fine
