My colleague and I ended up staying here for one night after being stranded in Wellington by flight cancellations. It was the closest hotel to the city we could get and having just stayed at the James Cook Hotel we were expecting this place to be grotty. What a pleasant surprise! Checking in was a breeze with the staff person being friendly and efficient - even asked if we would like trim or full fat milk! The unit was upstairs and there is no elevator. Not a problem for us but some people may want to request a ground floor unit if stairs are a problem. We had a two bedroom unit which was very clean and comfortable. There was one bed in the downstairs area along with a kitchen, shower, toilet. Upstairs on a mezzanine was a bedroom and another bathroom. There were ranch sliders in the lounge area that opened onto a balcony that went the length of the building. It overlooked the motorway but didn't really notice too much road noise. We went into the bar for a drink and a snack - prompt service, friendly atmosphere - very small but there is another lounge and dining room available that are larger. Check out the next morning was also easy and we both felt happy with our unplanned stay there. About 15 mins by car into the city so not too far out if you want somewhere reasonably priced to stay and still get good service and comfortable accommodation.
Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor unit if stairs are a problem.
