“Location and Comfort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2011

Stayed at Kingsview Resort & Towers for two nights with family. The Three bedroom apartment was on the ground floor, well appointed, modern, dishwasher, large fridge and modern technology stuff however the front loader washing machine does take sooo long so beware.

The staff were helpful and onsite parking is free. When staying the two nights the night club down the road did kind of wake me up a couple of times but it is the city no boy racer car sounds however so that would only have be my only grizzle is the night club music.

You can walk to the city and near by cafes and for meals at night. I was really impressed by this place and would stay again.

“Fabulous place to stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

We spent one night at the Kingsview and we left very happy. The rooms were exceptionally large and had all the facilities which a family needs including a small kitchen and washer/dryer. The beds were some of the most comfortable we had slept in. The staff at reception were very customer friendly and seemed like they would go out of their way to help if needed. The town's shops and restaurants were within a short walk of around 5 minutes. There was also a free car park in the basement.

“Not as good as it should be”

I travelled with my 80 year old mum and sister for a family funeral in the Tauranga area. The place itself is central to Tauranga but a long way from a supermarket if you are planning to cook in the kitchen. Apartments well appointed, spacious and clean. Customer Service was pleasant but overall lacking the attention to detail you would expect for that price eg. didnt enquire about newspaper delivery. They had the most bizarre chinese flat screen TV which the management could even work out. Most of the buttons only had instructions in Chinese - we only wanted to play a CD on the DVD player - nothing complicated! These resort does not have 24hr on site management and this proved to be a problem several times. One evening we also could not get the oven to work and I need to cook dinner for my mum. No management was available despite pressing the call button located outside the lobby. Eventually found a friendly guest who was most helpful. This was also a problem on the Saturday night as some type of function was held in the hotel with many guests staying there as well. As the younger guests were leaving they staying in the street for some time yelling various obscenities to the friends above on the balconies. The noise went on for about an hour. We were later woken around 2pm with further noise. They were no extra blankets in the whole apartment and it was chilly while we were there. We had the loan of a car and every time we went in and out of the very narrow car park we had to wind our way through 3 floors to very bottom despite endless empty spaces as we passed. Finally the apartments were not serviced despite our stay of 5 nights. Apparently - they only get serviced 1x per week. Not really good enough to have to keep asking for tea, coffee, milk, toilet paper, towels etc.

“Great sized rooms; and perfect if you want the centre of Tauranga”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

If we are going to Tauranga I would always stay at The Mount - but most accomodation there is SO expensive. We were going to a wedding at BayCourt (and again - this is perfetc if you are going to the theatre!!). Booking was challenging - it took a number if calls to get a good rate. I was also told they no longer have multiple room apartments as they are now all privately owned (that was fine for this trip 'cause we left little boy at home) but when I enquired when we checked out - they still have up to 2 bedrooms to let out - very confusing. I'm a big believer in making comments directly to the hotel before on line but I forgot (so sorry Kingsview) but they use a bizarre product somewhere in their cleaning. When we arrived on floor one, the corridoors smelt like stale indian cooking. My absolutely no faults with the room cleanliness or facilities. LOVED the shower (room 141) and YES we had a partial view which was really nice. There is the common issue with noise form the corrodor coming into the room. The bed was a little soft but rather soft than hard. The garage is a rabbit warren as is the whole building - I wouldn't live there. But perfect for what we wanted and would gladly return udner similar citcumstances and price. At full price this place is average - for $150.00 a night for a studio - that's exxcellent. The reception staff are lovely.

“Spacious rooms, comfy beds, great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2010

Large room (and it wasn't a suite), well appointed, no view though - just looked out over other buildings (but I'm sure some other rooms will have views), quiet location (so important to get a good sleep when travelling), car parking downstairs (under building) - no charge for this, not like so many Auckland hotels, close to amenities like restaurants (there isn't one in the hotel), a great organic fruit and veg shop, and the waterfront. Must mention the bed. It was so comfortable! We think it was a Dunlopillo brand? We both had perfect sleeps, and no aches at all, which is rare for me (I suffer from a bad back). On down side, and it's not really a down side, as hotel is very modern, it suffers from that all very common lack of character and distinction in so much contemporary design; nonetheless, we would not hesitate to stay here again.
