Booked the hotel via trip advisor which had an offer of free cooked breakfast.

Pro’s - There are 2 things which make this hotel- its location and the level of professional service from the staff- couldn’t fault them. They offered a paper, explained hotel details but were also unobtrusive. Easy access into their free carpark which was great.

Were given order forms for breakfast and found out the hotel cooks them but no restaurant- they are delivered to your door- so no buffet style, and would have liked a few more options on the menu, but was fine-however wouldn’t have paid $22pp for it.

Booked their top level room- a queen suite, which is a bedroom and the lounge area. Was a little surprised at how small it was with the title of ‘suite’, but very clean and nicely appointed.

The bedroom is internal with no windows and the one big con was if you shut the door, you have very little circulating air (comes in through a small vent in the roof) and because the air con out in the lounge is fixed on fan by the hotel, you cannot adjust it to cooler. End result we slept half the night with the door open but still woke feeling awful as it was so hot and stuffy. Something perhaps the hotel could work on.

Only other con was on the street side, we looked out at the back of a shop flat which had a large verandah with a mess of couches and beer bottles everywhere, which is an eyesore for this tidy hotel to face. 10.30pm the party started and drunk people yelling and screaming till the early hours. Knew the hotel couldn’t do much and reception closes for the night, with no number in the info book to call if needed that we could see?
It was really off-putting for a return visit- not the hotels fault but disturbing for their guests paying a lot of money for a ‘special weekend away’.

All in all a nice hotel marketing at a high level- although promoting the room as a suite is maybe a little overrated and the 2 cons mentioned marred its polish somewhat. I also agree with an earlier reviewer, that the hotel should be offering free wi-fi at these prices.

But staff and location, right in the midst of shops and the restaurant strip- were excellent.

the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, the staff were really friendly, helpful and efficient and the room service really great. Took advantage of a free breakfast offer which was delivered daily to the room at a time of our choosing and was excellent, a real treat! The sky tv was good and we had a free upgrade to a spa bath room which was nice. Cannot fault hotel except was a bit pricey and should include free wifi at that price. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

This is a great hotel in a central location, handy for the town centre and the waterfront.

The hotel has its own free parking - you park in their garage and a door takes you straight into reception. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, and offered us a very welcome welcome drink!

Our room was enormous, with a small balcony, a sea view and a bathroom with a big shower and a jacuzzi bath big enough for two to share. The bed was comfortable and huge, and the mini-bar was well stocked and reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in our rate and was pretty good too.

I would recommend this hotel without hesitation and will certainly come back.

This hotel exceeded expectations on many levels not least the quality of service. We'd definitely use it again without hesitation.
