Great location in the center of Taupo, atmosphere in the common areas was very conducive to meeting other travellers, and they have happy hour - pretty high scores all around. The front desk also helped us book bungy jumping, gave us directions to several different hot springs, arranged a shuttle for us, and there's free internet!

We had a really clean private room attached to an even cleaner private bathroom - towels included. Maybe I've just stayed in too many gritty hostels, but I was blown away by the standards in NZ and this was the best one I stayed at while I was there.

The Stray bus stops here most nights, and the bar/common areas were much busier when the backpacker bus stops and stays over - nights when Stray doesn't run were very quiet.

Stayed here for 2 nights while travelling around new Zealand. Our double ensuite was clean and well equipped. I thought the 5dollar chilli was good value and tasty. Only downside was the communal area was very small and quite noisy at night and it is right next to the bedrooms. The staff were knowledgable and offered advice on and arranged activities around taupo. Would definitely recommend this place particularly for younger / solo travellers

A lovely place to stay- right in the heart of Taupo... very relaxed atmosphere with Staff that are always willing to help and beds that are too comfy to get out of in the morning. Free internet was a bonus, aswell as the live music and ocassional party games! A good place to stay for both those wanting to party and for those who just want a to chill out and maybe take advantage of one of their many movies. Another good point is that they book trips and actvities for free and will provide you with plenty of information to help you plan your stay!!
