Good hotel, but a bit out of town (not walking distance), which made it attractive to us as quieter and more relaxing. We had a large room, although there wasn't a lot of places to put clothes. Nice bath, with big tub, separate shower, dual sinks, heated towel rack. Ask for an upper floor with a Lake view -- view was nice and sunsets striking. The room shared a balcony with a few other rooms, but our neighbors seemed to respect each room's privacy and it worked out well. Getting to the room is a little strange as we went through 4 pass-keyed security and fire doors -- don't have to worry about security!
There is a considerable daily charge for parking at the hotel, but you can park down the hill a bit (not far) for free. WiFi and internet are quite pricey, but we used hot spots in town. Room service was good, if a bit pricey, but you could easily go into town, get something and eat on your balcony with a great view. We did not use the restaurant as they were very busy and we were tired after touring. There was a gym, heated pool, and spa, but it was fairly busy with families, so we skipped.
Staff was extremely friendly. We were there over Christmas and Boxing Day, so they were a bit short-staffed and it showed some in service (incomplete cleaning and servicing of the room, slow room service, shortage of ice, printer issues at the front desk), but it was their biggest holidays. They tried to address service issues to the extent they could. The staff were ready to provide advice on attractions, and genuinely welcoming and helpful. When we checked out, we casually said where we were headed since it was our 25th Anniversary. In a flash, one girl returned with a bottle of champagne, and a bellman was helping my husband load our bags into the car and wishing us a special day. It was a very nice gesture and it seemed very heartfelt. It had us leaving with a very good impression of the hotel.
Room Tip: Ask for upper floor, Lake view
