I stayed in a family unit for two nights with my mother and two preschoolers. We were one unit away from a very busy road, and the traffic noise didn't subside til after midnight.
The water was on gas heating, but when the showers were used in any of the three family units an annoying loud hum came from the gas box behind our unit - and people were having showers late at night - between 10pm and midnight. It was loud enough to keep you awake.
The bedcovers on the two single beds in the living area were very tired and dated. All interior doors were wooden sliding doors, which probably saved on space but was a constant attraction for a young child to play with. Separate bedroom with double and single bed crammed in.
The light bulbs were almost all 25 watt - consequently very dim, and we had to turn them all on to see anything. Sky TV was advertised, but the only two sky channels available were Sky Sport and Sky Movies.
There was a microwave, small fridge, and oven. The oven section of the oven was 'not available', just the stovetop.
It was a little too far to walk to the main shopping street with young children.
Discovered by chance that Wifi was available through zenbu.net.nz, which was great - could have been better advertised.
Laundry only available after 3:30pm - one washing machine and one dryer (dryer still used old 50c coins, which had to be obtained from the office), clothesline available.
Tucked in a tiny corner were two swings and a very basic climbing frame.
The family units appeared to be older than the block of smaller units further away from the road. A glance inside showed what appeared to be newer interiors.
I wouldn't choose to stay here again unless nothing else was available.
