We arrived at the Fenton Court Motel in the cold July winter around 5:15 pm and it was already getting dark. It wasn't difficult to locate the motel as it is situated along a main street.
A pleasant man was behind the counter and he checked us in briskly. He told us we only had ½ an hour before someone pick us up for the Mitai Maori village tour and that he would call us when they arrive.
We were given the 1st unit on the ground floor which is just opposite the office. It was great because we could park the car right in front of the unit, unload our luggage and quickly get inside to escape the cold weather outside which was around 8°C.
Our unit front door is a sliding glass french door. We're impressed with our 2 bedroom unit. The first thing we did was to check the heaters and they worked. The front room has a twin bed and wardrobe. The master room at the back has a double bed, TV, wardrobe and a jacuzzi. There is gap of about a foot wide between the partition surrounding the jacuzzi and the ceiling. We could still feel the cold weather from outside getting into the jacuzzi area due to the gap. This jacuzzi should be great during the summer. The jacuzzi hot water work at a certain time during the day. All the beds have electric blankets. The living room has a fold out couch for additional guest, and a main TV set. The dining, bathroom and kitchen with full cooking utensils are clean.
Although the motel is situated along a main street, we didn't have any problem with traffic noise. All of us had a good night's sleep.
When we checked out, the pleasant man behind the counter gave us discount coupons for Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, recommendations to other places of interest and where to buy Manuka honey.
The Fenton Court Motel is central to a wide range of tourist attractions, cultural experiences, exciting adventure activities, trout fishing, golfing, hiking and nature tours.
