Great location away from the noise and traffic, yet conveniently close to the jetty, the supermarket and the cafes. No views, but a private and secluded feel. Plenty of space in the room we had (one double bed and one single) and a small but well equipped kitchen with everything you need for simple holiday food. A laundry where you can do your own washing and drying is useful, especially when it rains. A big strength is the care that Maureen and Phil take to make you welcome; they are really helpful and you feel that nothing is too much effort for them.

The Swiss Chalet was our first stop in NZ and we were fine. We really enjoyed our stay and the hospitality afforded to us. It was a nice room with a good view and good advice and assistance with the tours and local golf.

Lovely location, the staff were extremley helpful and the rooms were clean and tidy with all the facilities on hand, car parking secure.
The town is just walking distance where there are plenty of resturants to choose from.
We would certainly reccomend this place for families or just couples.

Would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here. We had the ground floor suite next to the office which gave us an extra bedroom. We had sea views although the Motel is on a side street. We could sit out at our own patio table and have breakfast. All very clean and well presented. Clothes washing facilites were very useful with a coin operated washing machine (reasonably priced) and even the added bonus of a good washing line! Very conveniently situated for restaurants (two Thai restaurants just around the corner plus others). Our hosts were very pleasant and helpful. Would visit again but it's a long way from Scotland!
