First, I want to be clear that Aloha is definitely a basic, no-frills, self-catering motel. It doesn't pretend to be anything else.
That said, the experience is anything but budget. Rooms are very big and spotless. The owners were extremely helpful (grest tips on what to do/see) and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome without being intrusive. There was a mixup with billing and the owner came to our room personally to let us know and refund us the overbilled amount (that I never would have noticed). This is exactly what a mom and pop shop should be.
