We stayed 6 nights in a studio room It was so good.Hosts Sherrin & Kevin very helpful We had a great time This motel has air conditioning but check as you travel thru N.Z as not all accommodation has air con Carole & Bob Melbourne

The motel is clean and modern situated not far from restaurants and shops,the service from the hosts was first class. This was truly value for money.
Will be back to Paihia soon and will stay at the Gateway again.

So close to the waters edge....the scenery is unforgettable....access to shops, etc, footpaths, great. Spacious rooms and always immaculately cleaned.....for people with a disability, this motel is suitable. The spa is really nice and you can use kayaks to carry to the ocean - lots of fun with your children. A five minute walk from the motel is the most unusual and incredible outdoor funpark we've ever been to. There were trapeze, rippin water slide, climbing wall, walking the tightrope....much more - it was very exciting for the kids..The owners at the motel are good people that are genuinely interested in their customers wellbeing, which makes all the difference in the world between a mediocre stay and one you'll never forget. We would definitely stay with Kevin and Sherrin again. Thanks for being so welcoming and helpful -warm regards.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Gateway for 2 nights and it was in a good location, a short drive or steady walk to the centre of Paihia where all the shops and the marina are. Here is where all the restuarants and shops were, as well as tourist info centre and ferry dock to go to Russell. It was a 2min walk to the beach, Countdown (there major supermarket) and petrol station.

The room was huge, with lounges, a dining table, very modern and spacious bathroom and even an extra bed ! The gentleman that manages the hotel was pleasant and very accommodating. The TV in our room was fitted with a DVD player and as a complimentary service, there was a huge cabinet of DVDs at reception, for us to borrow and watch. Their website also mentioned that there were kayaks available for use. My boyfriend and I took to giving them a go, as heavy as they were to carry to the beach haha. It was good fun and we appreciated that they were a free activity to fill the morning.

Overall, this motel was great and I would definitely recommend it!
