“Great apartments great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

On arrival we were advised we had been upgraded from the one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom apartment which was a surprising bonus. Coming into the apartments ours was on the right hand side on the second level. The apartment was well set up, clean, well equipped with the balcony overlooking the pool/spa area and also a view of the beach which is just across the road. We had no issues with noise at all. The beds are very comfortable, there is lots of wardrobe space. The whole area is well maintained. The free underground secure parking is ideal and with restaurants, bars, shops all within 5 mins walking distance the car was only required for longer trips. Nicki the manager was fantastic very helpful and knowledgeable with ideas of what to do. The service we received from Nicki and her son were exceptional. We would certainly stay here again and give this place our recommendation. Just some tips on places to eat - Alfrescos cafe is next door and a great place for breakfast and dinner. Don't bother having dinner at 35 Restaurant, the food is very average although it is a great place for a drink due to it's location over the water. It is worth a trip to Russell which is very quaint. We ate at the Duke of Marlbourgh which is a great location but the food selection was quite basic and overpriced, running out of the calamari and mussell dishes by 1.30pm therefore not leaving much to choose from.

Room Tip: Two bedroom apartment on the second level had a great view of the beach and was very quiet.

“Overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We recently stayed here for two nights with our children (aged 6 and 9). The apartments are arranged in three blocks around a courtyard area. Within the courtyard is a small, unheated swimming pool, seating area and hot tub. The apartments look modern but also feel very crammed into the space and facing each other meant a distinct lack of privacy for most people.
The biggest shock for us staying at this "resort" was a very large backpackers directly behind the rear block - the noise was unbelievable on the first night (a Friday) and continued until 11pm. I was disappointed by this because I had specifically mentioned I needed a quiet room.
The areas next to the apartments are pretty dire - our views were mainly of the back of a dilapidated old house, the back of Alfrescos restaurant and a car park, the side of another apartment block, with a small view of the sea between them.
The apartment itself was fine - quite small but had a clean, well equipped kitchen. The rest of the apartment didn't feel as clean and was a little grubby in places.
Another thing I thought wasn't right for a 5 star resort was the lack of service. The rooms aren't serviced until after the third night of stay, or you can pay extra if you want service before then. This amazes me when I compare it to all the places I've stayed in New Zealand.

Overall I feel this is an ok place to stay - but definitely not 5 star and vastly overpriced. I won't stay here again or recommend it (we saw plenty of other apartments in nicer surroundings further along the street) but if you do want to stay here, the best apartments are on the first and second floors at the front on the side away from Alfrescos, which gets quite noisy at night.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

It's not often you find a 5 star hotel that will let you bring your dog on holiday so this is a rare gem. But don't be put off thinking you'll be surrounded by dogs. When we stayed, our small spoodle was the only dog there. The facilities are VERY clean, it's right opposite a beach (which is probably the nicest in the area) and you can hire kayaks, bikes etc from the shop opposite. The hosts are really friendly, even taking our pooch for an afternoon and when I returned she was sitting happily smooching with them. They always came out to say hi when passing - thanks heaps for creating a fantastic holiday. It's just a short five or so minute walk from the main centre. It could get a little noisy during the latter part of the night with some hostels around the corner but considering we were the one of the closest apartments to them and we still got a great night sleep it wasn't much bother. The beds were comfortable with a huge kitchen and two bathrooms. We all would be happy to permanently live here.

“A PERFECT START TO A HOLIDAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

We stayed four nights here from the 21st December 2011. It was in a perfect location, just across the road from the beach of Pahia. The hotel was clean, modern, well equipped and quite honestly, perfect! The hosts were more than helpful and despite what some information will tell you, there is secure parking on site.

Room Tip: The rooms with the best view are on the first floor.
