“Absolute Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Fantastic service - the reception ladies were very well presented and very helpful! They booked airport transfers, winery tours, restaurants and spa treatments with no hassles!
The room was immaculate complete with a bottle of bubbly on arrival!
The view has to been seen to be believed - panoramic view's of the Bay of Islands and overlooking the Waitangi Treaty Grounds!
It was absolute luxury staying at this Hotel!

“lovely spot for a romantic get away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Our three nights here were lovely. Great views, the pool is wonderful & the staff incredibly friendly and helpful - we took recommendations from the evening receptionist in particular who was very knowledgeable about the area and recommended places we wouldn't have necessarily come across via the guide books. The breakfasts were huge - and delicious. Dinner was a little disappointing - fine but not all it promised, although the staff were lovely.

Room Tip: we think rooms on level 3 were best choice - definitely would not pick a room on level 2 too close t...

“Time to relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

This hotel stay was for the first part of our tour around New Zealand and was meant to be a chance to relax. The first impressions of the hotel was modern yet welcoming, the reception was small but gave an intimate feel and with only two floors you could feel the luxury of the place. We were staying for 3 nights in the apartment suite, with two rooms, a private patio leading directly into the spa and pool area, well equipped with laundry room, a kitchen, sitting room and free broadband, nothing more was to be asked for. The hotel restaurant was very near, quite small but this was fine as we were nearly the only people there during our stay. We dined in the restaurant 2 nights, 3 breakfasts and one lunch and each time the staff were very friendly and the food was lovely with an acceptable waiting time. On trying the spa I found it relaxing and enjoyable and an acceptable price for the area. The only downside was that of the 5 heated pools only 2 were usable and the other pool was too cold, but as advertised was water from the sea so was to be expected. The noise from the road never bothered us, I would highly recommend this hotel and will be going back again.

Room Tip: The suite apartment is best for families but all have good views, i would say being on the 1st floor...

“New Zealand Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

After a weekend of rugby in Auckland, which saw the All Blacks win the World Cup, we travelled north to Paihia. We checked out 4 different hotels, did a room tour of each, and settled on The Paihia Beach Resort and Spa.
Situated about halfway between Paihia town and Waitangi, it was the most expensive of those viewed but we wanted a spa pool to soak in and a good sea view across the water to Russell. We were not disappointed with either. Our room was large and spacious with a balcony facing out across the bay, with outdoor furniture to lie on and soak up the sun or sit a read a book.
There are five spa pools on the pool deck as well as a heated swimming pool. Towels are provided at poolside with tables chairs and loungers to complete that resort feeling. A large clear fence stops any on shore winds cooling the pool area.
The staff are very friendly and the cleanliness is of a high standard. Bathrooms have a shower over bath which gives a good high pressure wash. A feature is dispensers with liquid soap, shampoo and condtioner which do away with trying to get those fiddly sachets open with wet hands and never having them replaced the next day.
We found it an easy walk back to Paihia and the wharf and restaurants, and also along the beach front to Waitangi for a tour of a significant part of New Zealand's history.
As a bonus we went fishing with Captain Bucko and caught some snapper, YIPPEE!, which the lovely people at the Chinese restauarant in the mall cooked for us.
We would definitely revisit this area and very definitely go back to the Resort and eat at the Chinese restaurant. Superb three days that felt like a week.

Room Tip: Unless you want to look out onto the pool area book level 2-4. All rooms face out to sea except wha...

Dear Val063,

Thank you for your feedback, we are truly glad that we were able to deliver to your expectations during your stay with us.

Captain Bucko is definitely a good choice for catching fish, and we do also cook the 'catch of the day' for our Guests. Nothing tastes as good as something you caught yourself.

Again, thank you for your comments and we will endeavour to continue to deliver high standards and we look forward to welcoming you here again in the future.

I am a person who is very fussy about cleanliness, the way a hotel looks, the way staff present themselves etc ....so this place came as a pleasant suprprise to me and my husband. It was more than what we thought it would be. From the time we reached there till we left we were totally taken care for and pampered. Right from the staff at reception to the house keeping guys and the staff in the restaurant were smiling and very helpful. We will definitely be back here again.
