We had 2 days of "feeling at home" in a foreign land, the house is elegant and John and Judy offer warm hospitality in a sensitive manner. Their recommendations for things to do were ideally suited for all our interests. We also enjoyed a lovely meal which included ingredients from their garden. Free WIFI and Snooker, library and verandah with views. Very relaxing.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at this beautiful house which has excellent views of Napier bay during our recent visit to New Zealand. It is very spacious with an outdoor swiming pool and full size billiards table. The bedroom was huge and very comfortable with coffe / tea making facilities, a fridge and large bathroom. Our hosts, John and Judy, were very friendly and full of ideas and information. We were made to feel part of the family and John even drove us into Napier one evening to save a taxi fare! Breakfast was freshly prepared and served in their delightful and large kitchen / dining room that had excellent views of the bay.
It may seem a little pricey for a B&B but it is a special treat.

John and Judy were very welcoming and helpful. Great amenities in a relaxed atmosphere. A bit of a trek to some of the restaurants but John always offered a lift.

We stayed at McHardy Lodge on NYE 2009 and the experience was delightful. The lodge is beautiful - the pictures online don't do it justice.

We got such a warm welcome from the couple managing the lodge - tea and freshly baked cakes.
Breakfast was also fantastic.

They made us feel very welcome.

The rooms are fantastic - worth the money and the view from most rooms and from the verandah is superb!
