I travel to Napier often with family or my partner and we usually choose Deco City. Although the service isn't as friendly as some other places (and you'll never get a discount) the units are well-appointed, spacious and clean. It suits large families very well.

It can be noisy as the motel is often very busy and is two levels so if you are on the lower floor you will get of car noise and the noise of people on the walkway above.

The tariffs reflect the quality of the rooms.

Recommended but not if you want hosts that go the extra mile.

Second time we have stayed here and this was awful from the day I booked. Everything was just too difficult, did not want to hold our bags in storage for half a day even.

Mu husband was told when we checked in 'you don't own the room I do, you are only renting it'.
We were off to a wedding and needed a print-out from google and asked nicely. He said ' do you want me to run the wedding for you' then we asked him to print off such and such if he could and he said 'I have better things to do with my time'. My daughter verbally abused him and we walked away. We did have one nice lady one night though.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The owners were so lovely and helpful and helped us out with directions and attractions etc.
The motel is just around the corner from a supermarket so very handy. Short 5 min drive to the city which was fine.
Very roomy units and nice and clean too with all we needed for a nice stay.
In other peoples reviews they state the owners told them off about the noise, I would think the owners only did that to look after their other guests and keep everyone happy?

Arrived on a weekend without a reservation, as unhappy with accomodation provided by another motel. Clinton has happy to give us choice of rooms, and the 1 bedroom unit provided was great. Kids had seperate bedroom with TV, nice big spa bath in large modern bathroom, kitchen had everything you would need. Although was on a busy road, it was quiet due to double glazing. Everything clean... I recommend.
