Navigate has a number of great things going for it if you are contemplating a stay in Napier.First of all the premises are in a very beautiful location next to the beach, the hotel is brand new and very clean. Navigate has all the amenities expected of a top class property(comfortable beds,modern bathrooms, digital TV, coffee making, free washing/ drying facilities, free parking etc). Best of all it has an outstanding Manager, Andrew Buenter who took the effort to not only to make us feel comfortable in Navigate but also thoroughly appreciate Napier. Andrew gave us a good overview of its attractions as well as some very useful tips. This resulted in our enjoying our stay so much that we changed our itinerary and spent an additional night in Napier. The Navigate certainly gives outstanding value for money and sets the standards for resort properties in New Zealand.

A modern motel in a great part of Napier close to the see with some ocean views but we had requested a quiet stay on the night of 03 February 2012 , and we were surprised to hear the guest above flushing their toilet , then those 20 minute showers , then the toilet being flushed again . These unwanted noises and images were not wanted by us in room 208 , and the noise was of sufficient volume to be heard clearly over our television .
This type of noise is unacceptable in rental accommodation and when we brought it to the attention of the manager , who stated that no one had ever raised this issue prior to us .
I was underwhelmed by the motel and the toilet and shower noise was the final straw .
It begs the question , how could such a modern accommodation house by designed and engineered in this faulty manner in the 21st century , and brickbats to the architect and builder responsible .

My husband and I spent this last weekend in Napier and had a wonderful stay at Navigate. It is located walking distance from many cafes and shops as well as the beachfront walk. One thing to be aware of the hotel is not in the center of Napier itself but in Ahuriri, however it is only a 5-7 minute drive to the Napier i-site and the center of Napier.

Accommodation was excellent, cafe down stairs was wonderful, the staff at cafe were wonderful, cafe is called sol cafe. Yes we did try the honey & milk, but not happy with the meal there. I think that there could be better seating outside upstairs for people to sit outside. Chairs were very uncomfortable. So no sitting outside for a drink. Shame.
Fan from cooked chicken place across the road was a bit noisy. After all lovely modern accommodation.
