We live Hawkes Bay and wanted to cycle on the walkway so chose a hotel that was convenient for that activity.Harbour View certainly was that. it is within walking distance to some lovely varied restaurants so something for everyone. Location is great. A very short drive and you are in the centre of Napier. It was clean with good sized rooms. Good view from the rooms. Small balcony on the upstairs was an added bonus having that early morning coffee.
I thought noise may have been a factor -not so lovley and quiet. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Napier.

My husband and my 8 month old son stayed at the motel for 12 nights. The location was perfect. The boardwalk right outside was great for walking with the buggy and the Motor Lodge is so close to everything we needed, and town was only a 5 min drive. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They made our stay very enjoyable. The view was amazing! When we visit Napier again we will definately stay at Harbour View Motor Lodge.

My wife and I stayed at the motel for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding near Napier. The location of the hotel is in the old port region and has brilliant views of the bay. The suite had one bedroom which had a king size bed (very comfortable) and large LCD TV. The lounge area being on the top floor provided a perfect location to take in the views and had plenty of space to relax. The room was very clean and quiet with minimal outside noise. The area has several restaraunts nearby. Staff were friendly although there was little need to interact with them.

Where do you start, With the friendly check in? The small ballroom that pretends to be you bedroom? The wonderfull Sea view from your Patio window or balcony at one end of the room? The lovely bathroom with giant Spa Bath?. Very good motel. Not quite walking distance from City which you reach by passing a railway yard and the docks. walking in the other direction takes you to Ahuriri and then West Quay for closer shops and eating. We had 2 nights but wished we could have stayed longer.We had been told dont bother to visit Napier there is nothing there, Quite the oposite it is a charming city and Harbour View is the jewel in the crown.
