This motel was use to be a cleanliness motel to stay,its still okay to stay but its not comfortable as before The room was still the same but when we check in to room 14 there were still some food on the fridge and some rubbish in the toilet vanity not nice at all,and also there staff were so friendly and helpful,The front desk need someone who know what to do and answer the phone in a good manner,i experience something while i`m staying that there was a puppy who always make noice in the morning that wakes me up.

I would say i will give Dukes a 5 point out of 10

To be honest I had searched this hotel prior to staying so I new it was old and dated and it was cheap. We had a party to go to near by so thought why not.
To give it credit the staff seemed friendly but I just can't understand how people let things get sooo dated. The decor including the brown toilet was from the mid 70's era, the sponged pale yellow paint on the wall the most modern around the 80's era. The pillows were flat like pancakes also probably from the 80's. The studio rooms are tiny.
However, it was a place to rest your head. You get what you pay for I guess... but the KY lube wrappers under the bed made me nauseas. Especially when they aren't your own! Ewwwww.
A place to crash and thats about it really.

The hosts are exceptional and what makes this hotel worth staying at. While it is not in the downtown core, it is easy to get to everywhere. The units need updating but they are spacious and had everything that we needed. Our kids loved the trampoline.

We stayed for 9 days and It was so comfortable. The rooms are clean and it is in a great location. Close to the Airport and the City. No problems with parking the car. The hosts are what makes the hotel 5 star. Very helpful and friendly. I certainly would stay at the hotel again when I return to NZ.
