Stopped for 1 night after arriving straight from an early morning flight. We asked if we could have the room early which we could for an extra $15 which I thought was fantastic value. Rooms are basically furnished but comfortable especially the big double bed. The room has a tv and kettle. Was really surprised how big and nice the shower/ bathroom was. Staff were helpful and there's a little coffee bar in the hotel for drinks. Very central with good access to the ferries and queens street. Parking available outside pay at meter but not on a busy street so there were spaces. It's also an easy walk to where all the car hire places are in central Auckland.

My son & I arrived on a Monday 23/01/12. We had a twin room booked. We were given a double & single bunk like bed. I won the double bed...lol. Also, there were towels, soap & shampoo on our bed. I was impressed. We were excited that we wanted to go & see sky tower straight away!...this was only a 800 metres walk. We were very impressed!...also it was a 5 mins walk to everything central down town. Now, my thoughts turned to how was I goin to sleep at nite. I slept like a baby. I was very impressed. I loved the fresh air comin thru my window. We are heading back home today 25/1/012. Sad, I would recommend comin back again.

What was good was good; What was bad was bad!
Stayed both in the hotel and hostel side. Hotel was good value for location as we got a discounted rate for five nights. Hotel was new with nice TV and clean bathroom with lots of showerr pressure. There is no service in this hotel; Five days no one came to clean our trash or give us toilet paper, ONCE!
Hostel side, guess it was nice for hostel, new paint and beds. The Hostel side had horriable Toilet and shower. I would never stay again for the price, rip off at $69.
Staff were hit or miss. 25% of the staff were wonderful, freindly and helpful. The other 75% would not even make eye contact with you.
If you need a cheep place to crash in the city with no frills or service try the hotel side.

OK it's a hostel and it might be cheap for some people. But we stayed at the Formule 1 at the airport and for $10 for more you get: flat screen TV in the room with free to air, ensuite bathroom and toilets, and most of all two real single beds. At Jucy hotel for $69 you get a squeaky cheap hostel style bunk bed (when you stay on the bottom bed you can't even bend without hitting your head) The carpet is a hundred years old, with patches that move. One single plug by the door, the bedside lamp was just unplugged on the bedside table 2kms away from the plug and of course no extension...hello?? And sooooo noisy OMG. The building is so old overall. Anyway probably a good deal for backpackers for $20 a night for a dorm but not when you want some comfort.
