“Location makes up for deficiencies”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We stayed here as part of a group of 22 people. Check in was handled efficiently. Lobby is large and well furnished with numerous sofas to relax and read or to wait for friends. Our room was on the 9th floor and first impression was quite positive. The room was light and and sunny with a fantastic view of the waterfront and Aukland Bay Bridge. Further use of the room, however, revealed shortcomings. There was only one electrical outlet readily accessible. An exhaustive search found a second in the back corner of the closet but, even so, made it difficult to charge two iPhones and a toothbrush. The bathroom was spare with the cheapest possible fixtures - flimsy plastic toilet seat and towel bars. There was adequate space for one suitcase - the other one had to be satisfied with the floor. The bed was soft and the mattress cheap - get luck getting in & out of bed without disturbing your partner. Pillows were adequate and comfortable. No wireless coverage in the room and very expensive coverage in the lobby - after 20 free minutes or 20MG of use. We discovered this is in line with other NZ hotels.

“Great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

This hotel has one of the best locations in Auckland and makes it easy to get to most of Aucklands best attractions. Our room was on an upper level which is preferable given the harbour views. In a nutshell:
Positive things: Location, location, location, views, convenient parking (at a cost), great food in restaurant.
Negative things: As noted by others the hotel could do with a refurbishment (it is not bad but compared to other establishments is dated), can be noisy on weekend nights, not all staff are particularly friendly.
Note: We are a La Carte members (Millenium Hotel Group loyalty scheme) which is excellent. We have had no probems redeeming the vouchers which represent great value.

Room Tip: Ask for the highest level possible to get good harbour views

“Lovely View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

It Is nice hotel I spend there 3 nights from 17th Jan to 20th Jan 2012 , nice room and good view as it is on harbour front , very good approach to CBD and harbour , all room faces towards harbour presenting good view, I love that , but Bath rooms are small and taps are old type , any way it was nice experience, I love to stay again if I got chance.

Room Tip: All rooms are harbour front .

“Good position, bit tired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Thhe hotel is good value, in a great position overlooking Viaduct harbour, on the edge of town. The staff were friendly but the rooms were a bit tired. It needs a bit of a make over. Good hotel for a one-night stay.
