“Pleasantly impressed.....but check the rates”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Have changed my overnight hotel (en route to regional WA via Perth) from Ascot Quays to the Holiday Inn a couple of kms closer to the city. Was very impressed. The room I got was fantastic - very modern, incredibly quiet, large bathroom and nice decor.

Service by the team in the lobby was excellent, with genuine friendliness and courteousness.

However.....my nightly rate was very high. My colleague stayed for $100 less on the same night in the same type of room! So just check the rates available prior to booking. My rate was very expensive (esp for a non-CBD location), but then again Perth IS expensive for eating out and accommodation). There was a large outdoor festival on this particular day down the road (of which I could not hear a thing!) so the prices may have been elevated specifically to "manage the cliental" as it were!

Two slight irritations - the A/C unit seemed very underpowered for the size of the room, and it simply could not get the temp in the room down just a couple of degrees (took 6 hours to drop the temp just 0.5c - yes I knew how to operate it!). The bedding was also very 'heavy' and hot - therefore I slept quite 'hot'.

When I'm transferring through Perth, I will make this my 'regular' from now on (subject to available rates), but when staying IN Perth, I will still go to one of the CBD hotels, as its still a cab ride to get into town.

Room Tip: I thought I was going to have the noisy room - but was deathly quiet - so noise wise, no distinction...

“Safe Choice for Business Travel”

There is nothing to complain about really about the Holiday Inn other than one meal from room service. The only thing is there is nothing really great or memoriable about it. Stay and forget.

The room was fine and the air conditioning was good if a little noisy at night. Not enough to keep you awake.

The breakfasts were also nice if a bit pricey for the selections, all very basic.

Service was good enough not to be noticeable.

Got stung a bit for parking but its convenient.

“Three days of fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I had to stay there for couple days whe Qantas decided to ground their planes for a weekend in November 2011.
Hotel is placed not far away from the airport, it shares the site with Intercontinental, casino and a sport venue.
Lots of food venues to choose from, I opted for Sirocco restaurant for my all my meals.
Hearty servings, meat cooked to order.
Infinity pool at the back, small but comfortable, with a view at the golfcourse where Tiger Woods coached local VIPs how to putt, recently
Cigarettes vending machine in the bar wasn't working for the time I stayed there and nobody seemed to be bothered with that(trying to help people quit, maybe?)
At the lobby there is not only a reception, but also proper consierge desk, where you can get help and advice on almost anything.
Since I had a lot of free time, I wanted to see some real Oz.
I have asked for directions to local ZOO, but I was advised to visit the Woodman's wildlfe park instead as it was to be more interactive than your regular ZOO.
I was grinning like a Cheshire cat once I got there: you can cuddle the coalas, feed kangaroos, meet with wombat etc- a lot of fun for kids and adults alike :)
They sell Ausie electric adaptors at the concierge desk(15 AUD), but I have managed to rent mine paying nothing more than a big smile. I had only to promise to give it back when I check out :)
I stayed there couple weeks later as well when waiting for the plane and personnel was as friendly and helpful as before.
Oh, and they provide you with choice of soft and medium pillow on your bed as well.

Room Tip: Mine was with a view at the car park(309 as far as I remember) but I had to close the curtains anywa...

“Great hotel, but beware of parking issues during concerts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I can't gripe about the Holiday Inn as a hotel. It's always been clean, secure with lovely staff. But our last trip to Perth was marred by parking issues on our second night. On Friday night (January 27th) we stayed at the hotel to see Roger Waters at the Burswood Dome. Even though there was a sign stating the underground car park was full, we were able to get parking at 5pm after telling the attendant that we had reservations at the Holiday Inn. However, the next night was a nightmare!! We arrived back to the hotel at 8pm after catching up with family later in the day. We knew the Roger Waters concert was on for a second night, but had no idea there was a Chinese New Year concert on too. The line of traffic into the Burswood was grid lock all the way to Great Eastern H'way. When we finally got to the entrance of the under ground parking we were told it was full and there was nothing that could be done about it. We tried parking around the back of the hotel...full. We tried by the Dome itself....full. Our only last option was to pay $38 for valet parking. The staff at the other parking structures didn't give a rats clacker if we were guests of the hotel. And I would have thought the Holiday Inn would have given us valet parking for at least 1/2 price since we were guests...but no!! I don't understand why the Intercontinental and the Holiday Inn don't have designated car parks for their guests so parking issues do not occur. If the Burswood in undergoing a renovation, I truly hope the parking problems are rectified in the new plans.

“A GREAT STAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for 2 nights in December prior to flying out to Bali.

The Hotel is great, staff are very friendly and accommodating to your requirements.

The rooms are a good size, As Hotel rooms go, it is modern and inviting.

Housekeeping were very good. We did not eat at the hotel, though we did have a lovely meal at Modo Mio and it was excellent, one of the best meals we have had, and it was reasonably priced especially considering it was Christmas night.

We also ate at Carvers at the Casino, just a hint, if you join Club Burswood you get a discounts throughout or points towards gambling, (just a bit of fun not serious gambling). You get discounts on Carvers which is worthwhile.

Checkin and checkout we very quick with no problems or issues of any kind.

I would recommend the Holiday Inn, Burswood to all travellers.
