I have to admit, I was unprepared for the Mantra @ Murray. I believed, at over 650AUD, that the hotel would be a home away from home. I had planned to spend nearly 2 weeks in Perth, but decided against it, wholly due to this hotel.

I found a room kitted out with furniture that IKEA stopped selling 10 years ago. A cavernous room devoid of any attempt of welcoming the weary traveller.

A service that was second to everything. As an example, I was immediately threatened with a 200 AUD fine if I smoked, and UI had to sign to confirm I had received said warning.

Whilst I am still horribly ensconced in Mantra, I hope to escape tomorrow or, failing that, Wednesday, to either a backpackers hostel, or get my ticket out of Perth.

Have stayed in mantra on business a number of times and will return. large apartment style rooms for little more than small rooms in nearby chain hotels.

Service can vary though when my AC became unreliable they immediately moved me to a better rooms

restaurant is not recommended given the numerous better options nearby - breakfast is disappointing

I stayed at the Mantra on Murray for over 1 week and found it to have quite nice rooms with several apartment amenities such as a kitchen sink, hot plate, cutlery and utensils. It was very conveniently situated just 50m or so from the Murray Mall and an easy walk to the Perth Convention Centre where I was attending a conference. The room was serviced daily so appreciated the clean up of the room while I was out.

The rest of the hotel is looking a little dated and untidy, but it was still very functional for me.

We stayed here on a Friday night to finish the Christmas shopping. It's in a superb location for shopping in Perth and for $199 for a King Studio it was a great price. The rooms are quite large and the kitchenette meant we could cook our own breakfast. There is a very popular pub over the road yet we couldnt hear anything and had no problems sleeping.
