At the risk of repeating previous comments, but here goes.

Nice place, reasonable price (off season, and early booking), great food.... But

Not really 5 star.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, but the efficiency varied from great to poor.

1st impression was a voucher for a free welcome drink! Great!, but then told that this was good for only 5 of the beers they had. Not for e.g. a Corona. This decision saves the resort about $1 per guest per stay and left me wondering who would make this kind of economy at a 5 star resort? Seemed like bizarre way to welcome you..

The restaurant lived up to the reputation. Might be pricey, but definetely worth it.

Location is a 10 minute walk from the beach, and a drive to Broome. This isn't a big deal, but I think I would try somewhere closer to cable beach another time.

Many of the staff didn't speak English as a first language and this may have contributed to missed orders etc. as noted by previous reviewers.

No big complaints really, but it just failed to hit the mark too many times to be genuinely 5 star.

This is not the high season, and maybe the staff were temporary, but the impression was left that a fair few were not well trained or familiar with the resort.

I'd probably try somewhere else another time.

but that is no excuse. The room is fine, but the preparation for guests not so great. Others have commented on great location - not sure about this.

As for the food - I wish I had read the comments of others before. Amateur hour, not to mention the well intentioned waitraons who had NO IDEA. Avoid at all costs - drive elsewhere - even fast food is better.

Summary - Broome is limited by where you can stay with a quality place that meets up to the top dollar you have to pay. Pinctada to its defense wasn't that expensive through a discount booking place, but all the hype on their website is really just that, hype.

Will I stay again - nope.

My husband and I spent 4 days recently at the Pinctada Resort in Broome for our 'babymoon', our romantic break before our baby arrives next year. We chose Broome and Pinctada as we wanted a resort break without travelling overseas.
I cannot recommend Pinctada Resort highly enough - the staff are exceptional and we were treated like royalty the whole time. Nothing was too hard for them. We had a package accommodation deal which we sourced through their website (initially from a simple Google search!) The package deal included everything a couple would want on a relaxing holiday - airport transfers, breakfast daily, bubbles, canapes and cocktails, pearl appreciation tour, Spa voucher. It was lovely going in off peak season as it wasn't crowded at the resort or in the town of Broome and we had the most relaxing, romantic time together. The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. The food at the restaurant was delicious but the staff warm welcome and kind attitudes really made this holiday for us. My husband and I are avid travellers but never have I felt so relaxed after a holiday before. The resort is a quick walk to Cable Beach and it was magical watching the sunsets at night.
I would highly recommend Pinctada Resort and Broome to anyone wanting a relaxing, hassle free break.

Stayed for 3 nights in November to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We where upgraded to a Shinju Pool Terrace room which had a great little courtyard and double day lounge . Plenty of privacy with gate access to pool area. And what a great pool area it was. Soothing sound of water and relaxing music plus plenty of shade. Room was fabulous, great bathroom and loved the Nespresso coffee machine. Do as we do and bring your own pods as it's much cheaper. I was really disappointed with the negative reviews of this resort I have read on Trip Advisor and I think a lot of the issues don't warrant a mention. Most of the issues would have been sorted out witha simple call to reception. I have to mention breakfast as it did get some poor reviews. We had full breakfast included and I couldn't have been more happy with it. we tried all four cooked selections and each one was yummy, hot and fresh. Loved the continental selection including the smoked salmon. In hindsight the continental would have sufficed. My wife had two treatments at the Spa and raved about them for days. Nice touch to have a glass of wine on arrival whilst you go through the formalities of checkin. All in all we where very satisfied with our stay and will definately be back. Do yourself a favour and check it out.
