“Enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

This backpackers was a good place to stay in Broome and I would recommend it.
The good:
It was close to Cable Beach, about 5 minutes fast walk.
Good staff on during day - Nicole was helpful and knowledgeable and had good people skills.
Lovely pool.
Comfortable beds.
Pretty clean.
Communal kitchen was useful. Plenty of fridges.
Can book tours etc through the accommodation - staff helpful in doing all that.
Can buy some necessities and there is a bar.
Nice outdoor seating areas with shade cloth, pleasant environment.

Could be better:
There were some small cockroaches in first room I had - maybe unavoidable esp with kitchen facilities nearby, none in dorm room.
Night staff pleasant but not very knowledgeable, which is really needed for a tourist resort.
Air-con only 8 till 8 in dorm rooms, ok but in hot weather could not go to room before 8 really, but acceptable if not as hot and humid as it was when I was there. Not adjustable temperature, so could be too cold depending on where bed is in the dorm.
Many deposits to deal with - might be better to supply everything for one one-off deposit of $50 rather than separate $10 for this, $5 for this, $20 for this etc. Hard for the guest to remember which means relying on staff for accuracy, as no receipts for these.
Not much in way of saucepans and other pans and no cutlery in kitchen - presume it has come about because of backpackers stealing things, but a bit of a nuisance.
Lock needs fixing in Rm 237.
Kitchen quite clean but microwaves needed cleaning - generally things one could see easily were clean but could be a bit better.
Only one bus per hour to town, bit inconvenient but tours do pickups.
Short walk when you get bus back to airport - ask to get off as close to airport as possible and you might get dropped a bit closer.
Some literature for tours etc out of date - ask the tour operators to renew their flyers every so often, save guests making wasted phone calls.

All up I would stay again, esp in off season as not many there and pleasant surroundings and nice pool.

“Friendly and relaxed place to stay at a fantastic price, real greatly value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

we arrived late at night and rather weary, to a friendly phone greeting after booking at short notice and getting hassle free directions over the phone. On our arrival at Beaches of Broome we were welcomed by helpful Daneka.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, with all the essentials that any weary travel requires. Nice big courtyard, not over crowded with a very relaxed atomosphere with a huge pool & TV room for the kids to entertain themselves.

Big pluses to the fact that everything was reasonably priced i.e. bar, room, food you also get a complementary continental breakfast.

We will be highly recommend this place to our friends and family as we were staying here with 2 children, and there were no concerns for us at all. Gladly stay here again, GREAT PLACE...

“Best value in Broome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

Beaches is great value for anyone on a budget, with dorm beds and private rooms. I stayed in a 6 and 4 bed dorm. The rooms were clean, though a bit small and cramped. The bathrooms were really clean and huge and I never had to wait for a shower. They provided a hair dryer too. The pool is beautiful and its a short walk to Cable Beach. They have a well priced bar that does a few cheap snacks, hire bikes and scooters out cheaply, offer airport pickup and book tours etc for you as well. There's bus stop just outside to get around town, and I hired a bike to get around everywhere. If you're on a budget, its hard to go past Beaches!

“Second stay here, can't fault it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

This is the second time I have stayed here. The first was as a back packer in a dorm and the second was with my partner for a weekend visit in our own room.
Both experiences were great. It's cheap and very cheerful. The location is great if you want the beach.
Has great facilities, pool, bad and cheap food (if you are on a budget).
It is not a crazy back packer party place but you can still have fun. A good mix of all inc families, young and and old travellers, holiday makers.

Happy days!

Room Tip: Ask for one not next to young children

“Best value in Cable Beach, Broome, W.A.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

I stayed for 7 nights at Beaches of Broome in a double private room with an ensuite. This may be a 'Backpackers' but I have no regrets in not booking a Hotel in Broome. I sure got the best of both worlds; a private room with ensuite, pool, bar, huge kitchen facilities, friendly staff but it was at least $100 cheaper than a comparable Hotel in which I couldn't make my own meals (which helped save on costs). There are much cheaper dorm options available but I like my privacy. There were a range of people staying there from families, young backpackers to a more 'mature' group.

Beaches is located a 5-8min stroll to Cable Beach, there is a bus stop virtually out the front, a general/convenience store at the front of the building, scooter hire and 2 great restaurants (Zeebar, Zoo Cafe) next-door.

I will definitely be staying here next time I am in Broome again.
