Our party of 4 adults and one 10-yr-old dined here on a weekday evening to celebrate the child's birthday and first 'grown ups" dinner. After her experience I think she'll want to stick with kids restaurants!
Service was very slow. The restaurant was full, but this doesn't excuse our not being offered drinks and one person's never being given a glass of water.
When we finally flagged a waiter to order drinks, two of the three drinks arrived, and we again had to wait and wait and finally try to flag down the waiter to get the third, a glass of wine. The waiter waved at us with an annoyed gesture that seemed to say "just wait, will you!" and then ran over and poured the wine into the glass in a very rushed and rough manner.
When the mains arrived, the ten-yr-old was given Marron, although she had ordered steak and chips - I was next to her and had clearly heard her say it. When we pointed out the error, the waiter said "I wrote down Marron", and then repeated this several times, also telling another waiter who came over to assist that he had "written down marron". There was no apology or attempt to make things right. The other waiter finally took the marron away, at which point our waiter said it would take "about half an hour" to get the steak and chips. Since everyone else had their main course, the child's mother decided to give her main course to the little girl - who wasn't thrilled with it, as she had really looked forward to her choice - and accept the marron, which was then brought back (marron is also the most expensive main course by quite a bit).
Finally, when the bill came, the child's father paid it and upon the receipt coming back, the mother realised she had not given the restaurant her Entertainment Book card (for a 25% discount). She alerted the waiter, who said "Sorry, it's too late, you are supposed to give it to me when I give you the bill." The suggestion that re-doing the bill, especially in view of the slow service and mistaken main course, might be easy enough to do - and also a nice gesture - was met with an abrupt "sorry, no".
At this point the child's mother listed the particulars of the awful service to the waiter (drinks, water, main etc) and in response he smiled and said "Oh, try me again next time, it'll be better!"
She informed him that we certainly would not be back, and we left.
While the food was very nice, the lack of service, and the poor attitude of the waiter definitely guarantees I will never go back as well.
