Rooms are ok, i stayed in a 10 person doom and a 8. Room sizes vary very much so alot is based on luck of the draw, Very good hostel to reccomend if you are staying a long time 1 month + because the majority of the staff there are people working for accomodation, 21 hours a week. Most of the hostel staff are friendly. Try to get a room on the upper floors, 3-5 due to music at the bar until 2 o'clock + and larger dorm rooms. Bar prices surprsingly expensive for a "backpackers hostel" a good hostel overall for melbourne CBD

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The room was clean, bed comfty enough and it had a small cupboard which you could lock with your own padlock. Bathroom was clean too which was nice. The free pasta/rice/tea/coffee was really nice too. Bar wasn't too loud or quiet and reception staff were really friendly and useful. I did get woken up a few times by random people coming and going but I guess that is normal for hostels. I would stay here again.

They stuffed the rooms with too many beds so there was no space for people to move in them. Cleaners could do a better job, and actually knock the door before rushing in (this happened 3 times in female only dorm room, where a male cleaner just came in without knocking or asking if its ok..!!) I was very disappointed also with the kitchen facilities and dirty bathrooms. I have stayed in hostels in Australia for the last 8 months and this was really one of the worst i have seen. Stayed for 3 nights only because i paid for it advance.

Unfortunately, this was the first hostel we stopped in at while abroad. The staff seemed distracted and disinterested. The building itself was very nice, with a bar on the main floor, but this meant it was very loud at night. The kitchen was miniscule and VERY busy at almost ALL times. The free pasta and rice was nice. They have a travel desk, but no one is ever working. The bathrooms could use an air freshener or two, to say the least. The rooms had lockers and mirrors, which was much appreciated. The beds are EXTREMELY squeaky. If anyone rolls over in the night, you will all wake up. Something to dry your hands with in the bathrooms would be nice! From this experience, I will never stay at a Nomads hostel again! Luckily, not all hostels are like this one!! Thank goodness.
