Ths was our third stay at Hume Villa and we found the place at its usual high standard of service, cleanliness, helfulness and friendliness. Even the resident dog is wonderful. We will definately stay there again. We stay to visit relatives and also to see and do lots of things in Melbourne. It is very well located if you have a car. It is only about 20mins easy drive with no freeway to the CBD. With all the ring roads and freeways now it is an easy 1 hour or so drive to lovely Mornington on the Penisula where you can ride a traditional steam train on the first 3 sunddays of the month and dine with sea views. Melbourne has great atmoshere these days. The motel is easy to locate when coming from the airport. Well done to the Managers and thanxs again.

love the hospitality here nothing too much trouble & we luv the assistant manager "Patch". just needs a pat n he is happy.

This was our second stay and we plan to stay here again in 6 months time and twice a year. The premises is continually updated and very well maintained with lovely service. It has undercover parking, security at night and fully serviced rooms and apartments for families. Each room has a fridge, microwave, electric jug and toaster but you need to get your own eating impliments. It is situated about 15 mins from airport at end of a freeway exit. It is at the end of hume hiway if driving from sydney. It is a 15 min walk to Gowrie station. The CBD is about 20 mins drive during non peak periods. Kmart, Coles and McDonalds are a couple of mins drive away on the hume, They have a restaurant and room service but we have not used these things. The heating and air con is very good and flat screen TV and foxtel. It is quiet especially rooms at back. Not a pretty or tourist area at all but for value and service I rate it very highly for a good nights sleep in good beds and I have travelled to 17 countries and around australia.

Fawkner is not a place you would visit as a tourist, really, Unless you want to go the 'Underbelly' cemetery just down the road. Maybe this would be a good marketing campaing !

Anyway, I needed to be near the city for an early start and didn't want to be IN the city. I found this motel just off the freeway. Friendly and helpful manager. I received a discount for corporate guest. Room was upstairs and to the rear which made for a quiet stay. Carpark is fairly secure and covered by camera's,, as is most of the property. That's the nature of the area, I guess. Owner's have made the motel quite safe and secure.
If I had to be in this area again, I would not even look anywhere else.
The only letdown was the cooked breakfast, get toast and cereal! Otherwise very good. Clean, good sized flat screen TV and very small but usable shower.

I did have to laugh at the multi-purpose soap dispenser that a lot of hotels are using. Just a single squirt bottle " whatever you want it to be" dispenser. My daughter (15) was horrified at what it did to her hair. It didn't bother me!
