I stayed at this venue 5 years ago and it was reasonable. What a difference 5 years make, in that time I don't think ANYTHING has been changed or upgraded.
Upon arrival, kettle not working, no tea cups or mugs, (reception did bring a new kettle and gave me 2 tea cups when I approached them). The heater was not working, a portable one was provided, but useless considering it was an apartment and the only source of heat, in the middle of winter!! The standard of the cleaning was ..........well.............do they have a cleaner??? The recption desk did say they were 'renovating' but really there is no excuse for a lack of cleanliness. I have stayed in hotels in Cuba that offer a better standard of accomodation. Unfortuntely the location is tops, so if this is priority for you, my advice for future travellers is to inspect before you pay. If you are unable to do this......don't risk it and STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I had read these reviews before i booked a room at Aston, but im use to ruffing it and have stayed in some destitute accomodation through-out asia. However i can honestly say this is the worst accomodation and service i have ever had. Firstly the room i had on Punt road was DIRTY, MOULDY and SMELLY and the blinds were falling off, letting the glaring street light shine constantly into the room. The room was also on a busy road, NOISY through-out the night with no sound insulation from this or the rooms next door i BARELY SLEPT the 6 nights i suffered there. As for serviced apartments, my room WASNT SERVICED ONCE, i felt i'd been forgotten about, even when i requested my room be clean i was told the cleaner could only do a few a day... WHAT??? Further more when i did managed to escape, i left a book there, when i realised i rang up and asked to have it posted and offered to pay, yet 2 months later and several phone calls i still have not recieved my book. I rang today, they said it will be sent tomorrow... lets hope they do!

ANYWAY... DO NOT STAY HERE!!! its horrible.

We walked in and walked out again. They did give full refund but took 3 days to hit my Cr. account (not properties fault but banks). Not clean, curtains falling from rail, under beds dusty and lollies etc still there ie not vacuumed. Also mouldy bathroom and looked liked floor had not been swept. We were a family of 5 so were in the older part of the complex in a 2 bedroom apartment. Definately in need of renovation.

We were 4 family members visiting Melbourne for a family event. Had read reviews on Trip Advisor and didn't expect much for $128/night. Well, we didn't get much! Location is great, nice leafy South Yarra street - excellent Italian restaurant straight down on Toorak Road. If you want cheap accommodation and no more than a roof over your head - and I must say the sheets and towels were clean and there was a good supply of breakfast cereal, tea/coffee etc. - then stay here. Do not stay here on a Melbourne holiday - you will be sorely disappointed!
