“Great location and comfy bed”

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with our 2 young girls. We had to change rooms on arrival as the first apartment on the 4th floor had a window that wouldn't close and our youngest could have easily fallen out of it. This first apartment also looked like it hadn't been vacuumed properly. The staff on reception were very easy to deal with regarding the swap though. The second apartment was much better with working windows which were higher up off the floor which was more appropriate for a family. The floor was also cleaner. Being lower, on the 2nd floor, we were also in amongst the tree tops as opposed to above them which made for a a nice view.
Pros: The location, halfway between St Kilda and the city is perfect. A short tram ride either way which was perfect for us, with a tram stop almost right outside the motel. The room was quiet and the beds were large and comfortable - probably the comfiest motel bed we've slept in. Cons: Some of the furnishings ie; cushions, chairs etc were a bit tired. There were some mould marks on the bathroom walls and the whole apartment could probably do with a paint job to jazz it up a bit.
Overall, pretty good value for money, given that 2 bedroom apartments in Melbourne can be very expensive. Would consider staying there again.

“Walk to the beach or conduct business in town”

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment for 10 days which was kept clean and had plenty of space to relax. The furniture and fittings are quite old and we had some difficulty cooking meals since there were no suitable lids for pans but overall this was a great place to stay and for the same price as taking two rooms in a hotel there is much more flexibility.

The staff were extremely helpful with three or four different staff all thinking about what the customer might want rather than simply stating standard information.

“you get what you pay for”

This location is handy if you have a car (free parking over weekend was a plus) and also if you want to go to city as well as to St Kilda as it is half way. Tram stops infront of the hotel. Rooms are clean and quiet( we stayed over a weekend), furniture a bit warn but still in good condition.small kitchen corner is handy, but is equiped for 2 people not for four- we had four plates, but 3 cereal bowls and 3 mugs and just 2 coffee cups and 6 wine glasses. reception was efficient, and we were happy with our stay for the price we paid. They provided baby cot for free which was very nice too and even with the cot in the room there was heaps of free space , which was good.

Room Tip: call reception if you are missing equipment in the kitchen, they will provided

“St Kilda Rd location, clean and good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

This is my first choice for hotels when I have to travel to my Melbourne office, as it is only a couple of buildings away. The rooms are generally very clean, have good facilities and look nice. I was once given a 1 bedroom apartment that was in poorer condition to the hotel rooms, but overall my experience is positive.
My only issue is that the hotel is next to the Business Australia Post Centre which means that truck noise is quite loud during the early morning.
On my last visit there was an issue in purchasing alcohol from the reception desk, in that I was made to go and pay for it at the restaurant which was unusual as I've previously got it from the fridge at reception. I'm not sure if it was new policy or just that the staff member was confused.
Overall am satisfied with the quality of the hotel and rooms, and have found the restaurant meals to be good.

“Very spacious rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

Reception staff on arrival were slow and disorganised, but very efficient on departure. I had a one bed apartment which was very spacious and clean. It was on the righthand side of the building looking out onto the post office building next door. The bathroom was huge but the shower controls needed some maintenance as it was difficult to get the right temperature. The dispensers for shampoo, etc. were not exactly user friendly.

The kitchenette was modern and clean and equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave and a dishwasher (which wasn't working). The only kitchen utensils which I needed to use on my first night were removed (for washing-up?) and not replaced and neither were the coffee/tea items I used from the hospitality tray.

There is a tram stop just outside the hotel so it was easy to get into Melbourne. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.
