We were really disappointed with our room it was dirty and had not been cleaned. There were chip packets left in one of the rooms, the bath room had not been cleaned and the sofa lounge had kindly been made for us despite blood on the sheets.
If you were staying here and you were not a mobile person you would find it extremely difficult to move in and out of the shower as the shower is over the bath there is not a lot of railing around the bath to help you get in and out of the bath, my Aunty just turned 50 and is fit found it frustrating. The bathroom also becomes very slippery as there are no curtains or screen covering half the bath.

The location is a ten - twenty minute walk to the tennis and we found it very convient.

Huge one bedroom apartments, right next to fed sq, little Collins St and Chinatown. Great service although no free wifi.

Because hotels my business usually uses were booked out (blame the Australian Open Tennis), I stayed a night at Mantra. It was a night too long!!

The room was OK, although furnishings are cheap and a bit tacky. TV reception was awful and complaints to the front desk drew a response of "We'll get someone to look at it tomorrow". (After I'd checked out!!)

There are no breakfast facilities apart from self-catering. Fortunately there are early opening cafes nearby.

Lifts were very slow. Water flow in the shower was weak. The bed was relatively uncomfortable. I've actually had more comfortable nights in the outback in a swag.

Staff were pleasant but ineffectual.

All in all, if you're on a business trip to Melbourne, I strongly suggest you avoid this establishment.

Loved the city, close to shopping areas, would recommend the mantra group. Would I stay here again, maybe.
