I stayed here for 3 nights during the Australian Open. The hotel is approx 10 minutes by tram/5 mins in a taxi to Southbank. The staff are friendly and always available to you should you have any questions about the area. The tram stop is 100m from the front door with every tram heading into the city, so you only have to wait a couple of minutes for your ride. Tram tickets can be bought from the hotel's from desk (and charged to your room) so it saves you having to worry about carrying change. The hotel had been totally refurbished inside. The rooms are well appointed with a flat screen tv and comfy bed. Id stay here again if visiting Melbourne as its a bit cheaper than the CBD hotels. St Kilda is also only a quick 10 minute tram ride.
This hotel would also be your number 1 choice if going to the Grand Prix, you can walk to Albert Park.

Wow, someone in a hotel has finally realised that they need to put a mirror next to a flat surface, next to a power point so we can do our hair & make-up!!! Most hotels make it very difficult to straighten you hair & do your make up even though this is a very cheap, simple problem to fix. This hotel was very well laid out with an area separate to the main part of the bedroom where the wardrobes, kettle & fridge & the mirror were, this was great because I often wake up a couple of hours before my partner & the layout here meant that he was not disturbed.
The room was very clean & modern. We were in a room overlooking the Oval & tennis courts which meant it was quiet & there were lovely views back towards Melbourne.
The St Kilda Road location meant that there wasn't much nearby in the way of major attractions or restaurants & bars & we personally like to be central to be able to walk to these things, which you couldn't do from here. It is quite easy to get trams to the City or St Kilda though.

We stayed at Parkview for the Australian Open 2012, and also to celebrate my birthday! We stayed for 4 days.
We find the hotel accessible to Melbourne Park, and also to Chapel Street. The tram line is just infront of the hotel to go to the city. It's about a 15 min trip. You can even buy the tram ticket at the hotel reception which costs only $7 all day fare. Cheap compare to other cities.
We were a bit reluctant at first when we saw the hotel for the first time, as the exterior and entrance was nothing special. The lobby was plain, and reception was unattended. Then we were surprised when we arrived at our Room. It was very modern, huge, clean and has good sized arm chairs, study table and massive plasma TV!!! The bed was king size, which according to our booking was only a double! I would like to emphasize the cleanliness and comfortability of the bed!! We've been to numerous hotels, mainly 5 stars but though Parkview was only 4.5 stars, it felt like it was 5 star whilst we were inside the room! Again, I repeat the outside was nothing special, reception was bland, reception staff may need more training with customer service perhaps as the lack of enthusiasm! But the room, well it did not disappoint!!! Good parking facility. $10 per day..
Lastly, I would like to say that the heart of this hotel are the cleaners! For number of days we can't help but to observe them, particularly a lady named Sue, she has the most wonderful enthusiasm and friendliness considering the hardwork they do!!! Everytime we walk pass she greets us with a huge smile on her face, but noticeably
tired. She kept our room clean everyday!

Stayed recently at the hotel during a business trip. Had a good stay. The room was big, clean and well furnished. Had a view of a cricket ground from the room.

The breakfast options were good. Tried room service which was good. Working late, it was convenient that they served food till late night. Overall service was quite good. Friendly staff.

The hotel is well connected. Tram stops are less than 100 m from the hotel. There is a lake (Albert Park Lake) near the hotel, good place for a jog/walk.

There was a discrepancy in the bill which I realized after a couple of days. Sent an email to the hotel and they promptly refunded the amount on the same day.
