“Perfect for a weekend shopping trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Stayed here with a group of friends in October 2011. Great location for a weekend of shopping and dining. An easy walk to the central shopping mall and short taxi ride to DFO or a tram ride to Brunswick St. Plenty of cafes and dining options within a 10 minute walk although Queens St is fairly quiet at night. Three bedroom apartment was clean, spacious with a kitchen and two bathrooms. Service at the front desk was efficient and helpful.

“Nice Place but . . .”

There's nothing wrong with this place but it's not what we had in mind. We were looking for something more boutique-y and this is just no-nonsense, plain vanilla, average okay place to stay. If you want to be in the middle of the artsy scene of Melbourne, keep looking. Oh, and they charge an arm and a leg for WiFi but the great little restaurant next door offers it for free.

“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We had a studio for 3 nights and it was perfect for our needs. It was small but had everything we needed. I booked then cancelled and rebooked when the rate went down. It had enough crockery etc for 2 people, including a teapot and sugar bowl! We had a microwave and full size fridge which was great. We didn't touch the minibar as it was as usual very expensive. The bathroom was well equipped and the room was kept clean. The reception staff were very willing to help. The hotel is in a great area for food and drinking, it was a short walk to the free tram but it's a small city and easily walked.

Room Tip: I always ask for a quiet room, you don't always get a view but if you're out all day that do...

“Melbourne aptrmnt”

A nice apartment, good size & facilities.
Quiet area, lack of cafes/bars/restaurants within the surrounding street, over the weekend.
Friendly staff, not a good bed, with a queen matress on top of a double bed base, causing the
sides to flop over the edge of the bed.

The team at Medina Grand Melbourne are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your feedback.

In relation to the restaurants, we have Hardward Lane (one of Melbournes busiest eateries) only 2 minutes walk from our front door and Little Bourke Street is home to Melbourne's famous China Town. For more special occaisions we are are only minutes walk from Movida and Vue Du Monde. The team at Medina Grand Melbourne would be delighted to direct you to any of these restaurants. Closer to home, we have a fantastic restaurant within the building, QSR which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday.

At Medina Grand Melbourne we have King Size Beds and Queen Size Beds and are investigating how there could have ever been a miss matched bed. Please do not hesitate to contact me personally to discuss this matter further.

Again we thank you for your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back to Medina Grand Melbourne when you are next in Melbourne.

“Delivered as promised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

As a regular guest at this property, I reviewed the Medina Grand last July and commented on the lack of room service breakfast. The manager commented on Tripadvisor after my review that this would be available with the opening of their new restaurant.

And so it was, on my last stay there in early February 2012. I can heartily recommend their breakfast "fry up" which had perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, mushrooms, spinach (around $18). For room service dinner, I enjoyed their eye fillet with large chunky chips, well seasoned (around $35). Nothing like a delicious room service dinner after a tiring flight, and a hearty breakfast to pep one up for the day's business meetings ahead!

Room Tip: Avoid the tiny studio rooms!
