“Perfect location”

We were upgraded to an Executive King suite, and the little bit of extra space was nice. Unfortunately the view from the windows was not at all attractive and there was a feeling of a lack of privacy due to the array of windows immediately opposite. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel's location in the heart of Melbourne is brilliant - close to everything.

My only other complaint is to ask why Australian hotels insist on charging for internet access - although the charges here were lower than some others I had stayed in on this trip.

“A Place To Rest Your Head. That's It.”

If you are looking for something in the heart of the city then this is the place. If you want a room with a view of a filthy alley, then this is the place.

The room was small and the carpets dirty. Couldn't even open the curtains because we looked out to a disgusting alley. Wouldn't walk on the carpet in my bare feet.

Unfortunately, we did not pick this hotel, it was part of a tour package, which the company that we went through will hear about as well. My advise is pick your hotels yourself as well as your flights. You will be better off in the long run.

I might add the Melbourne is a beautiful city and we had a great time there, just don't pick this hotel.

this hotel would have to be the best value for money EVER in a big city. Right in the heart of the cbd, excellent rooms, friendly, helpful & CHEERFUL staff . beautiful food what more can I say. We will definitely be returning to Melbourne for more culinary and shopping experiences and definitely will be staying at the Swanston. 10/10 Well Done!
