I stayed at the hotel mid January 2012, we booked a 2 bedroom. The rooms were large and the pool was nice....but be careful they will over charge you a large fee for VERY SLOW internet access. I wouldn't stay there again. But we had a lovely time in Melbourne.

Melbourne CBD hotels range from sketchy and cheap, to overpriced (albeit not with the service of US/EU hotels). However, The Best Western Atlantis slips through the gaps of both spectrum and and is very SOUND value/location in a sometimes tricky city to find reasonable value accomodation.

PRO(s):
-If you are catching the Skybus from the Airport this hotel is 2min walk
-The rooms are a reasonable size for this price hotel
-The price is SIMILAR to A LOT smaller room/worse hotels in Melb CBD.
-The beds are fantastic, my wife and I had a great nights sleep
-Coles supermarket w/liquor is 1 min walk (@ southern cross station)
-I'm not into football but Etihad stadium is walking distance
-The included breakfast is simple but fine
-I didn't realise there was a pool/gym and sauna in the basement level when i booked, would have brought bathers
-Rooms have large flat screen televisions

You can pay 3 x times for a hilton-type premium name hotel in Melbourne but personally i would rather spend the difference IN MELBOURNE ITSELF!

Recommended, stayed for business and would book again, one of the best deals in the 3000 CBD.

The hotel was affordable for the price you are paying. The rooms were clean and pleasant with a great modern feel. I stayed in the twin rooms. Nothing about the rooms were disatisfactory. In fact great upkeep.

The worst aspect of my stay is the service. The reception staff were awful, all with bad customer service, they were chatting to one another in front of guests.
In addition, as there were no room service with this hotel, ringing housekeeping for requesting additional towels directed the line automatically to front desk who simply replied "come down and get it".
Yep, no matter how affordable and "value" for money the Atlantis is, if you have bad customer service, there wont be any customers or in this instance, guests returning.

I stayed at this hotel in November for 1 night. It had read mixed reviews but I thought I would give it a go. Bottom line - I was more than satisfied. I believe it represented good value for money. I stayed in a Docklands View room. It was comfortable and extremely spacious. The staff were helpful. Breakfast was included but if I had to pay the $11 for it I would have. It represented good value. I enjoyed the pool and the gym room was adequate. Overall I thought the hotel represented good value for money.
