I always book into the Crowne Plaza when travelling to Melbourne for business. The location is convenient - close enough to Docklands where the office is located but also easy access to Southbank, Crown and trams to other parts of Melbourne. For a female travelling alone the hotel is excellent with very comfortable, well appointed rooms, a quiet floor, quality food available from room service and staff who whilst not fantastically friendly they are efficient, polite and helpful. I like knowing that they will get me a taxi when I need one, deliver my food within 30 mins and that they now know that I want a quiet room when I check in. It may be boring to keep returning to the same place however all I want when I travel for work is a quiet, comfortable room and some tasty healthy food from room service - sadly that can be impossible in some hotels that like to claim otherwise.

Stayed only for one night there. Hotel has great location, you can reach city by walk or use tram (infront of the hotel), very close to the clubs and pubs. 45 minutes from Victoria market by walk. Comfortable rooms, very tasty meal, 24 hrs room service, bit disappointed of the gym (very small and dark place), business centre, very helpful concierge.

The location is absolutely great. A 2 minutes walk will get you to a good choice of restaurants on the Yarra river side. The rooms are nicely furnished and equipped. The gym is a bit cramped and disappointing.

The staff at the reception can be a bit arrogant and unfriendly, though the concierge was very helpful, knowledgeable and customer oriented. Do not hesitate to ask him an advice.

Typical of a pricy hotel, perfect for business travel. 24 hour room service is good.
