We stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is modern and situation on the Yarra, a pleasant 15-20 minute walk from the CBD and 5 minutes from the City Circle tram. We were given a city-view room (well worth it for the lovely evening views down the river to the city) which was roomy and comfortable.

We only ate in the cafe (Cafe Cino) to get a light breakfast each day, rather than the ubiquitous Hilton buffet breakfast experience and this was good.

My only gripe is the internet. it is expensive (AUD$20 a day) and not very fast at all (my mediocre home broadband is faster) and the wireless signal was almost non existent in parts of the room. Hotels like this need to accept that travellers expect decent internet as part of the rate these days - most cheaper / smaller hotels provide it.

Spent the night for my 44th birthday, outstanding staff, outstanding location and a postcard view of Melbourne city.

The room was modern, well thought out and with a great bed. Stayed in a city view executive room on the 16th floor. Had lounge access, staff where wonderful and the morning buffett breakfast was amazing.

Check in and bell staff very friendly and helpful. Welcomed me back as a Hilton honours Gold member.

I guess if I had to find a single fault, it would be the lack of under cover car parking. I know this is not the fault of the hotel as they use part of the very over priced DFO car park.

If parking use the Valet, price wise better than self parking.

Can't wait to stay again and really is the first and only choice to stay in Melbourne.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hilton Melbourne South Wharf for 2 nights in a King Room and loved it! The hotel was modern and stylish, with an impressive lobby and exterior. The room was spacious (38 square meters) and extremely luxurious. It had excellent views from its floor-to-ceiling windows. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable - and it had so many pillows!! The bathroom was large, with a separate walk-in shower and bath. The hotel is located right next to DFO South Wharf, which is great for shopping. Open-air parking was available at the DFO for $20/night, which we took advantage of. The only drawback was that it was a little far from the centre of Melbourne – a 10 minute walk to the edge of the CBD. Nevertheless, we would highly recommend this hotel. Definitely deserving of its 5 star rating!!!
